I have tried everything includeing uninstalling re installing java etc and I cant get on at all with the vanilla server ..... I can see me having to buy Lego lord of the rings to pass the time :)

Now I've had chance to revisit the area it is not like it was before, the ruin is much smaller, it used to have pregenned redstone circuit puzzles and whatnot. Don't know if a large enough area has been rolled back or whether it is just randomly regenerated each time after the relevant blocks were redone. Doesn't really matter I suppose but I kinda wish it hadn't been destroyed in the first place, it was a really unique place.

I can't get onto the modded server :( Can't Reach Server. Will have a go at a few things and see if I can get it to work.

Been a few days now.

EDIT: Can't even get onto the livemap for the modded.

and all on 1.4.6....

Looks good 5punk.. no idea why can't get onto the server? Loving the support for the server here :/

Thats because something killed it and most mods are away currently over the Christmas break
we have been working flat out on a new 1.4.6 server for you guys and are pretty close to something which I'm sure you would rather as it will bring a whole host of new features to the game

is it always the same PC that fails or either?

Yeah, it's always PC2.

My knowledge on IP addresses is non-existent, does this sound right. We share the same IP address, but have different IPv4 addresses (Router admin page says we have different "LAN IP's", but doing a google IP check brings up the same address)

Me and Siewwanlinda are still having Java issues since rejoining you guys a couple of nights ago. If anyone has any ideas of what a possible fix is, we'd appreciate it :).

Problem:
2 PC's, side by side, both using wireless connections to the same router.
When PC1 is playing, no problems.
When PC2 is playing, no problems.
When both PC's are playing, PC2 will get the following error and boot you out. Sometimes every few mins.

Connection Lost
Internal exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

I guess it's a network problem? Any ideas where to start?

Tried un-installing / re-installing Java, multiple versions and variations. Cleared Java cache. Deleted player file server side (Siews).

Ah. Well that was most probably me as I destroyed a filter involved in my tree farm... which released about a million saplings and lagged the server out. Thought it had rolled back and was ok as I managed to get back on about 2 mins after, but obviously not.

God knows how so many saplings got into that filter as the arboretum had no humus and there was only like 5 trees left so.. might have been a fault/glitch with my system or something that messed it up.

What you have to realize is that 1 tree can drop 5 saplings and all you really need is one to replace the tree, to get around this you need to run the filter to a chest to keep the saplings then tee off the pipe leading to the chest from the filter with a restriction pipe to a tubestuff burning block that will destroy the excess. - problem solved :)

Yep. I had a gold chest, with a filter pulling saplings out then to my arboretum. and then to the chest again if the arboretum was full. However, these 5 trees managed to FILL my gold chest and put about a million saplings into my filter. I will change the system to what you have said when it is back up.

And how come so little slots for the new test mod server?
