It only crashed the client on my work server, but I'm missing plugins and such.

I think I just crashed maxi's server doing the shift click chest bug. The client didn't crash though. Not sure if that's progress or not....
edit: apparently maxi's server is on 1.8 but my client is on 1.8.1 so maybe it is fixed.

That's the bug I was talking about earlier. It isn't fixed for servers :/

Without taking anything from maxi's offering of a server. I have a multiplay server with 1.8 on which you guys are welcome to use. May save Maxi some trouble? I have taken the whitelist off so anyone can join. Its pure vanilla and always up, though it is a max of 8 players.

Ugh, I still can't connect to minecraft.net in the game, can I get 1.8.1 from the minecraft site directly?

just reset the world to a new map as the first spawn was set in the ocean lol

Looks like bukkit work has recommenced and they've possibly fixed the main game-breaking issue. I'll try to get time to sort the upgrade tonight but no promises.
Nice! Don't waste too much of your free time getting it going though, leave that for work time

So. I've just found out the John Smith Texture Pack doesn't seem to like it when you're on fire....
Edit: After reading that backwards "use patch"... I totally forgot MC updated and I had to repatch it.... duh!!

Who is/will be hosting the new 1.8 server?
And by that I mean which of you fine chaps, not the hosting company
French will, but as normal the main server has to wait for bukkit (or else you'd all be complaining you got gratified and we couldn't tell who did it)
so until then there's lots of temporary ones popping up.
