Hi All,

It is with regret that we have to announce that the server is now closed :(

I would like to say that I had a fantastic time on the server and made some good friends.

[UPDATED]Welcome to the new OcUK Minecraft Server Thread
[wip ;)]

Direwolf20 1.7.10 Server is on 1.0.3 linktart.co.uk:55556 [please note the version number is found under the recommended tab on the FTB Launcher]

We currently have a Modded server and a Vanilla server running these can be both found [Here] Along with Details to join our mumble server

To join the server please join the site and follow [These Steps]

If you have never tried out Modded minecraft the learning curve can be steep but in this post i hope to cover the basics and get you up and running.

We currently run the FTB (Feed The Beast) Dierwolf20 pack which is currently based on Minecraft version 1.7.10. This can be found [Here]

Here is the first video of DW20's lets play using the pack -

Also an excellent source of information is the unofficial FTB Wiki which can be found [Here] and the mod section of the minecraft forum which can be found [Here]

Below are a few pictures of my build on the Mod server this is using the Sphax Texture pack which is available [Here]
If you wish to use this pack I recommend the x64 version as the x128 version requires more then 8GB of ram
Also available is the NP Smooth texture pack originally created by NuttyProt a regular on these very forums.
He has recently passed his pack over to another team who are doing a great job maintaining and keeping the pack up to date this pack is available from [Here]

Here are some images of the mod server and my build on the mod server, below each picture of my build I will name the mods and also link to information about them.

any reason the vanilla is so far behind the current ver?
can't connect (hell, MC shows it as offline).

It's not offline, but like you say it's not up to date, you need to be running 1.6.2 to get on once your whitelisted.

Not sure who runs it day to day?

Maxilive is the tech/admin for vanilla.

You can change the version you are running easily using the edit profile on the launcher.
Or you can make another profile just for vanilla and have it
running 1.6.2. Saves having to edit the 1 profile all the time.
Also the ip is linktart.co.uk:21111

And you need to make sure you are whitelisted.
They are looking at updating the server without losing the big builds.

Sylvet mentioned that the server would need to be updated to 1.6.4 then bukkit updated before updating to 1.7.2,
because witch huts and nether fortresses would break.

Think that was what was said, was getting tired last night so might have forgotten some stuff.

Also here are the server commands for Vanilla.
Press t or / to bring up the chat window, just don't try to chat with / at the beginning :p
/spawn Takes you to spawn of the world your are in.
Overworld,Nether or End each have there own respective spawn points.

/bedtp Allows you to teleport to the last bed you slept in.
You must actually lie in it not just click on it. You can change beds as much as you want.

/co i This enables the ability to see the 7 most recent changes in a block, switch or chest.
This is good for seeing who moved or placed a block or took something from a chest.
Type it again to disable it.

/call playername
This allows you to send a teleport request to a player on the server.

/bring playername
This is used to bring a player that has requested to teleport to you.

Think that's all the commands.

The vanilla map is 30Kmx30Km so 900Km square, plenty of room to build anything you could want.

That might seem like a lot of ground to travel but by making a rail through the nether you can get to any point in the map much faster.

Edit: Info for the 1.7.2 Vanilla server.

Vanilla 1.7.2

Here are some of the cmds for the Vanilla 1.7.2 server
Thanks to Ham and 5punk3monk3y for showing me the cmds.

/sethome "name"

This allows you to set your home spawn. You can have up to 3 different home spawns. Each sethome must have a different name without the quotes.

Using the sethome cmd with the same name will overwrite the previous one.

/home "name"

This allows you to tp to a previously set home point.

/delhome "name"

This deletes the sethome spawn point.

When you place a chest it will already be set to private without the need for a sign. To change perms use the following cmds.

/cpublic

To make a chest public.

/cprivate

To make a chest private.

/cprivate "name"

To allow named player to access a private chest.

/cremove

To remove all perms.

The 1.7.2 server is a multiverse with 6 worlds. 3 are copies of the 1.6.2 server and 3 are new. Here are the cmds to access them.

/mv tp "name"

World Names

old_world

old_end

old_nether

world

world_nether

world_the_end

Edit: Forgot some ^_^

/tpa "name"

Requests to tp to the named player.

/tpaccept

Accepts the tp request from the named player.

/tpahere "name"

Requests the named player tp to you.

/tpdeny

Rejects the tp request.

Other cmds can be found using the help cmd.

/help "number"

Use numbers 1 to 5 to check the different help pages for additional cmds.

So I started to play on the Mod Server and just found the new thread. :p :o But my ping is consistently high over 200ms I am sure it was fine the other day but is it just me and my crappy 1.5Mb internet plus the mod pack not functioning together or is it server side lag causing it? I can't really play too well at the moment with about a second and half of lag every few seconds. :(

I think it's your connection:

Just to echo Coltus - an upgrade but keeping some of the big builds on Vanilla would be great.

Sylvet was saying there's a need to upgrade to 1.6.4 first or summat or things like villages/fortresses/witch huts etc will break/not spawn, which would make sad pandas cry :D

There's loads of space to build on the Vanilla server, and a few interesting builds to discover (if you're prepared to travel that is ;)). There is also no shortage of materials there for the taking.

yup just got it working on the linux laptop now, need to pick a spot not too far from everyone, thought I had somewhere but there's a build just over the hill!
ended up over by the stronghold, will have to carve a niche for myself!

Hi all - we have a new permissions based server purely test at the moment feel free to jump on and let me know what you can do on there - the FTB pack is Monster version 1.0.9 and the server ip is linktart.co.uk:22565

- no whitelist -

This is a pure test server with bukkit integration so it could be down or laggy or just not working right

Edit - now on 1.0.9 Monster

what happened to the /Home command?

Server seems really unstable. Keeps going down and when I finally managed to log in, it took 10 seconds to open chests/doors and there was a 10-15sec delay when using the /spawn command.

Not sure if it's being hosted on a Pentium 2 in Yrth's basement but it certainly seems like it is.
