I don't know - 5punkey and Yrth will post at some point.

If the server is still running the same restart script it was when I set it up a while back it will probably reboot every 6 or 8 hours. Whilst it'd be nice to be able to leave it running without reboots Minecraft isn't stable enough for that sadly.
 
Hey all - just a quick update we are working on a mod server first which we hope to have finished soon and yes this will also have a working bukkit system for plugins etc.

The vanilla server will be the next port of call once we have finished with the mod server.

We do have plans for the vanilla server which we will be taking over but we will be doing this in the background so *may* require some mods on there as we plan on pushing the vanilla server alongside the mod server.

- no posting up "pick me's" as anyone doing that will not be considered.

Things will become more apparent closer to the time but in the meantime don't forget we do have a nice private mod server up and running with no banned items that if you want to jump on just let me know :)
 
Thanks for the update guys, I know you're doing this in your free time so really appreciate all your efforts!

not sure how many people are interested in the vanilla server right now but I'm trying to spend as much time as I can on there!

just for example tho, I've been on the server for half an hour and it's lagging out (chunks not loading, minecarts falling off railway etc), not sure how long since last reboot.
also seem to get lots of zombies still alive during the day?

I'm on there a fair bit! Mobs that have armour/status effect will not burn in sunlight, that's normal on hard mode. According to the chat-log last restart was at 13:41
Zombies can spawn right next to you in well lit conditions during a zombie siege :)
Dunno about the minecarts though :/
The server's usually very stable - maybe it's your end?

edit: Must be your connection or summat mate - just logged in and everything's fine. Rail to your place/enderfarm, the one out to vdubs place and the one to my place all work perfectly. No chunk load errors either :)

Hello all

We now have a Monster server up and running there are a couple of things that need finishing on it but as far as we can tell the world and pack is set so feel free to jump on with the details below - No whitelist but an admin/mod will have to give you build permission currently

Linktart.co.uk:22565 pack is the FTB Monster 1.1.0
- once run go to Edit Mod pack and enable bloodmagic and Thumictinkerer along with your choice of map system.
Mystcraft is disabled by default on the server as we are now using multiverse (portals at spawn)

In other news check out the videos below for some details on the mods available in the pack and also check out the AE2 preview video.

I always feel like I'm missing something with FTB, is there a point to it all? what is this beast and what do you feed it?
 
Hey - any clues as to the vanilla server plans? I feel like a new build in the hills, but don't want to start if a wipe is imminent. There's also another massive build in the pipes (similar size to the witch farm, so quite big!!) - again, we don't want to get too involved if it's all going to vanish.

Totally new to MC. I know there's a certain aspect of just jump in and explore for yourself but is there anything I need to know basic tip wise? Seen a lot of texture pack talk, should I stick with vanilla textures or use a certain one?

I've tried a couple of texture packs but keep coming back to the vanilla one. If you go on the vanilla server there's quite a few builds round spawn, but there's some massive builds if you're prepared to travel!

Sign up, log in and have a nosey about to get a feel for it. There's a barracks at spawn with gear in to get you started. Find somewhere to build yourself a nice home - mine some materials and start building. Make a farm - tame some horses - build a roller coaster! (hmmm - there's an idea!)

The world its self is big enough - 30 km2 so there's tonnes of space. Help's always appreciated with the big builds.
