Great work mate.

Are people playing during the day? Would love to know how my company is getting on but can't login from work. I'd just finished a nice little link of industries and was hoping the cash would start flowing pretty soon!

Time works great for me and profit comes in steadily enough - plenty to keep expanding at a steady rate.

I notice a lot of people set their vehicles to wait for a full load - any benefit to this?

I've been sitting as a spectator in the server all morning, checking it occasionally, and there's not been anyone else in today, so the game has remained paused. Which is your company and I can tell you some figures.

Waiting for a full load is generally better since it means you have a vehicle in the station for long periods of time, increasing the station rating and meaning you get more goods.
 
If your train is too big to do an efficient "full load" you will lose out on profits due to the time it takes to transport the goods which can halve on luxury/perishable items, also if your train is in the station for too long you're not delivering the goods in a timely manner, dropping the "cargo delivered last month" which doesn't help the industry rating.

Did you get the message "Your PC is too slow"? That's normally because you didn't type the password in quick enough.

Yea you have to be really quick, more so if you have a password.

Got my petrol in the end last night :) had to build an epic rail link to the top corner of the map but it should open up lots of industires to my little network so should work out well.

Might have to have a break tonight - got the music playing non-stop in my head and was dreaming of rail junctions in the night.

Nah, i get "network-Game connection lost" I need my isp to boost my line again to give me a whopping 1.5 megabits download....so much for living in high tech Japan ;-)

Yeah could see you trying to connect a few times there. It could just be the lag so boosting may not help, worth a try though of course :)
 
Yeah, unfortunately there's not much I can do at the server end to help with that. The map's a little under 2Mb at the moment, so its not huge, but if you are too slow to download, it drops the connection.

Nice of whoever is green to build an island next to the oilfield my ship was collecting from, so it couldn't then reach it :/
 
That was me? I'll have a look when I'm on in a bit once I've fed the hoard. My company isn't locked. If you want send the train to the depot and trash the bridge and I'll sort it when I'm on later.

While there are still two company slots left on the server, I'm looking into ways to remove inactive companies if required. I notice that dureth hasn't logged on in 45 years and Timbo_La hasn't been on in 61 years. So, if required those two will be deleted first.

There is no actual way to list when the last time a company connected, so I will be going by vehicle age. The game spams you with prompts when a vehicle gets too old, and if your youngest vehicle has been in service for 61 years (When the server has only been opened for 66), unfortunately that company will have to be wiped so that more active players can join.
Of course, it isn't the situation that this is required yet, just a heads up.
