Do you stream to Twitch and want more followers, then why not add your name to the list below & Follow your fellow OcUK Twitchers.

More followers can help gain more viewers which is what all us Twitchers want as it's hard to get a foot hold in streaming and get established.

We can share details, give shout outs on our streams to other Twitchers from OcUK and even host other channels (use the /host streamname command).

So add your Twitcn name below, so that people can Follow you and vice-versa.

Is it worth saying what we currently stream as well? Mines World fo Tanks, War Thunder and I've already set up to do World of Warships :)

Possible, but I switched games from time to time, but playing Elite: Dangerous mostly at the moment along with Star Citizen and a few others so it can be a bit random :D

I've followed you by the way tcfreer.

I use XSplit for streaming as I have a 5 year license until 2020 but will keep trying OBS from time to time.

In slower paced games I stream at 1080p, but for faster stuff, like FPS then I switch to 720p for less pixelation and smoothness of the stream. I run at 3,000kb/s and it seems to provide a decent enough quality stream and not exclude too many watchers.

Currently also use TeeBoard (sadly development on hold for a while), Twitch Alerts & Roccat Power-Grid for my soundboard ;)

Added everyone to the list and will follow you all :D

Yeah, I have a playlist on Windows Media Player that plays the tunes.

Just remember that the sound in the Video will be muted if you try to watch it later. When your stream is live it'll play fine, but they auto-detect copyrighted music and mute all sound in the video.

@Cobra-UK - Your upload is way too low to stream anything decent. The bit rate would be so low it'll be unwatchable and you'll probably have lag issues yourself in-game. Only thing you can do is wait for updated internet unfortunately.

No Cobra. It's all to do with broadcasting licence.

With Spotify you are allowed to play the music, but you couldn't stand in the street with an amp and play it for everyone.

Twitch only allow copyright free music or music that's allowed to be streamed live like at the places theonejat above listed.

I think people have listed a few apps in previous posts, so have a browse through those. There's no real all-singing, all-dancing, do everything app, although Teeboard was close, but it's development has stopped for now.

Google image search for your images. That's all I use for my backgrounds etc and a bit of editing in Photoshop to create overlays etc.

http://www.twitchalerts.com/

Use it's various features for donation/follower notifications etc
I've used it the past few weeks and I like it, good to see it develop too.

For your music I'd look for a Music Scraper/Plugin that outputs to a text file the song title etc and then you can add that into your stream overlay.

What's your system spec Frenzy?

Shadowplay is usually very minimal in dropping FPS. CPU encoding via x264 is another matter and can kick the crap out of your system if you're not careful.

With that spec Frenzy, Shadowplay should hardly interfere at all with your Frames Per Second. It's similar to my old rig, apart from the 970 (I have a 780).

Recording using Shadowplay on BF Hardline last night and I had very little FPS drop. There must be something else getting in the way tbh. Try a complete uninstall, Display Driver Uninstall and then re-install of the driver/Geforce Experience.

The FPS you stream at shouldn't affect the stream people watch tbh, if anything when people are getting buffering then it's usually a Twitch ingest server issue. Streaming at 60fps will more than likely cause the streamer to have performance issues but if it's buttery smooth then it's ok.

Couple of tips for new streamers regarding bitrates/FPS etc

30 FPS is more than acceptable for streaming. Higher will require a beefier PC.
60 FPS is good for local recording for uploading to YouTube later, but again 30 FPS is fine too.
Streaming is more about the Streamers UPLOAD speed & the viewers download speed.
If you stream at 10,000kb/s then your stream will look amazeballs, but not everyone will be able to watch it as they may only have 8mb/s download themselves. Plus the higher
bitrate, the more beefier the PC will need to be to transcode the stream.

2,500 - 3,000 kb/s is a good figure for most streams @ 30 FPS.

Slower paced games will look better in most cases as there's less camera movement/fast action.

First Person Shooters with lots of camera moverment/fast action will look blocky/pixelated at times. Consider dropping your stream to 720p for fast paced games to keep the image quality up.

I stream games such as Elite: Dangerous at 1080p @ 30 FPS - 3,000 kb/s bitrate
For something quicker BF: Hardline I use 720p @ 30 FPS - 3,000 kb/s bitrate.

Local recording I tend to use NVENC encoder via Shadow Play with very high settings to keep the image quality up, plus YouTube tends to destroy a lot of image quality when you upload it anyway, so don't expect crystal clarity on YT.

I plan to try drop by everyone's stream if i can :D

Managed to stop by Gaz's the other day and had a few BF:Hardline games with him which was fun :D

We did indeed. Was weird to see someone in my game, who's watching the stream.

I'm trying to stream each night but my work pattern means some early starts whereas I'd normally try to stream until 11am I just can't atm.

Having said that, I streamed GTA: Vice City last night and apart from some dodgy keyboard/controls it's a hoot. Yeah, I like Old School and diverse games :)

Gaz I wondered if I could ask a question ? What bit rate do you think I should stream dying light when I play later. My bb speed is 60dl / 18ul. Any help is massively appreciated. The reason I ask is that I'm not 100% satisfied with my settings, I felt dayz didn't look particularly good.

This is the inherent problem with fast paced games, they look pixelated/blocky after encoding and uploading to the stream.

If you increase the bitrate too much, you start to limit who can watch your stream, but leave it too low and it looks crap.

Twitch partners get preferred settings, but becoming Partnered is quite hard.

I'd suggest around 2,500 kb/s for most games tbh, just so that even viewers on ADSL connections can still watch. Upping the bitrate much higher will not improve things too much and will cut down on potential viewers.

Also, upping the bitrate will make the encoding machine have to work hard and as most of us only use the 1 machine, it can cause issues with your games performance.

Stick with 2,500 kb/s for now, but test up to 3,000 kb/s and see if you notice any discernible difference when watching it back.
