**** Official OnePlus 8/OnePlus 8 Pro Thread ****

Hello chaps

I got a OP8Pro recently, and at night it has the notorious green tint issue at low brightness

Is this common and to be expected (fixed with the DC Dimming), or should I reject it?

Thanks

No issues here mate. Grab a replacement.

My first handset has a slight issue with tint but the replacement has excellent uniformity.

OK, I will try. Issue is I got it from Amazon warehouse and they will not offer a replacement, only refund. I paid £500 for it as well rather than the full £699 :(

Promising - RMA to Oneplus

Anyone used both the 7 pro and the 8T, worth the switch? I'm getting that need something new itch.

I got it back, it's far better. However the YouTube app still does the green thing at low light, but apparently this is due to changing from 120hz to 60hz and is a software issue.

That's a result.

No green tint on mine @ low brightness that I've noticed.

Absolutely nothing just suffering from the ooo shiny feeling :o
I've had the same feeling for a while.. will stick with my 6T until March as it's really not worth upgrading yet... hopefully the 9 should be good. Seems the Pro will have a curved screen again (just why :( ) so will have to get the normal 9.

Is the 8 Pro still worth it at £600 (8GB / 128GB)?

Waiting for the 9 might be wise but will no doubt cost a fair more quid and for what? FOR WHAT?

For £600 I would say no for the 8GB/128GB model. Would probably say yes for 12GB/256 at that price

Not sure there are any for me who is prioritising screen quality (watch a lot of YouTube on it in bed) and camera quality (photos of my kids), but that's what I'm asking.

Are there any?

The Xiaomi Mi11 is the closest that I can see. I'd still pick the 8 Pro due to the software.

Unless you have a real need/want for wireless charging would you not be better to even save a few quid and get the 8T? Personally the flat screen alone would put it over for the Pro for me, but as I say, it depends how much you want that wireless charging as there aren't any other significant differences.

The camera is significantly worse on the 8T
