*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

Pretty sure they haven't put out the high rez ground textures and some other stuff yet since its not too well optimised. Currently i think it looks rather fantastic when you consider the scale of the battles that are going on.
 
Spotted a name from the past tonight, from the original Planetside 1 OcUK TR clan I was part of, VaderDSL... not knowing how to send in game messages, I did what I do and shot him... and as usual I missed with most of my ammo and he ran away.

Spent a few minutes googling how to send ingame messages, and he didnt reply. So, either, ive got the name wrong, he doesnt remember me, or more likely he remembers how annoying i was and ignored me.
 
What server is everyone actually playing on? Could be ace to get together at some point and roll around in a galaxy.

Don't know if it works cross faction yet.
 
I find that after about the third time of making a ridiculously lengthy run to get to the battle, only to be killed as soon as you get there, you lose all will to play and end up logging out. :<

Ah man :) really sorry I don't think the tell system is working 100% :( At least I don't remember seeing a tell from yourself, and I think cross faction doesn't work atm.

I'll keep an eye out for you :) are you on NC? if so I'll add you to my friends list when I next log on.

You could try "instant Action" instead, that sometimes drops you quite close to the front line, all you do is open the map, click on a battle and then press the instant action button and it will then drop you in a pod thing directly to that area, much quicker than running from the nearest spawn point.
 
Finally finished my download and the servers aren't up XD Anyone know the ETA for online servs?

Which server is everyone on? Probably going to go Terran.
 
The game actually looks quite nice, i will admit the textures of the terrain are horrendous, but what do you expect with maps so large?
