*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

I'm not saying it doesn't happen (I've experienced it a few times), but your post implied that you can't see people further that 50 feet away - which is nonsense.

In some circumstances it isn't, for example over the capture point in a Tech Plant. Sure I agree it's not always the case however.

I had this issue once when I was trying to snipe from a fair distance, it just wasn't showing a single person in sight. Upon moving a fair bit closer, all of a sudden plenty of people popped up out of nowhere. Almost no point in having a 10x or 12x sight if you cannot even see people from that distance sometimes

Admittedly this only happened to me once, but it was frustrating enough for me to post about it heh :P

I was in a fight with with VS last night (Amigafan2003 happened to be on the vanu side) and before he arrived in a mag, there was a galaxy drop. Every single member of our squad reported the same thing... they were completely invisible until they fired. (multiple class types). We were lucky we survived that first hit, as it was almost impossible to hit these guys - Heavies, light assault, snipers, max's.. they fire a burst, visible, stop firing - invisible. Not funny.

lag? bug? a squad of hackers? Who knows.

In other matters, I have switched to EVGA precision, and have had no issues with crashing out of the game that I did with Afterburner (even though they are based on the same code).

Last night I went through a similar experience, but it was me that was invisible.

My squad kept asking me why I was all the way at the bottom of a hill on the map and not with them.

But, I was with them, stood next to one of them capping the base. I said I was there, on voip, to which they replied, "well, we can't see you".

I then stood in front of one my teammates and asked them to look straight ahead and shoot, they shot straight through me and I took no damage.

I was able to shoot and kill my teammate without them seeing or hearing me.

Then an enemy appeared, I shot and killed them. And then I could be seen again by my team.

one thing is for certain Dave uses HAXORZ jk

i sometimes fine it hard to follow team mates (in squad i dont just follow randoms) round city they seem to sometimes blip for half a second and you lose where they were or where they were going so you get lost from one another.

in fact it makes it really hard to stick together fully as a squad we had 6 on other night and only time we were all fully together was in a galaxy, we were all spawning off same sunderer at one point so that was ok, but they shud make it so you can spawn directly on squad leader if he has certs. i have bought the squad leader beacon but it isnt a huge use at low level.

Squad beacon is awesome if you can find a decent place to put it, because it's so easy to be spotted and shot by the enemy.

I have found the best place for it is near the girders on the comm towers, most people don't notice it up there. Only drawback is you need to be assault so you can jump-jet up there.

Don't die :p

Have used it a few times when I haven't been the squad leader, I have flown to a location, asked for squad lead, landed, placed beacon, team drops in, infiltrator takes a console, spawns a Sunderer and then I give back squad lead. I don't see it as a constant spawn point more a one time thing to quickly get to a hard-to-reach area.

Interesting. We did have an experience like this with our squad where the sundy just stopped. Someone said they couldn't get back in... so I got out, and I also couldn't get in (the sundy was frozen). Then I asked where they thought they were, and they were a kilometer away lol. Perhaps it's a similar issue. Would be nice if they could fix it as it clearly gives a significant advantage/disadvantage.

Also.. makes me wonder whether a lagging connection can be spoofed. I would imagine it wouldn't be 'that' hard to do. I'm not suggesting cheating, I wondering if some people do this.

OK this bloody game just made me feel like a right numpty.

I have been playing engineer, spent most of my certs on it. Near the start I unlocked the tank mines to find that they equip in the same slot as the ammo pack. As I didn't want to lose the ammo pack I was a bit annoyed that I had wasted 100 certs on the tank mines because I was going to stick with the ammo pack.

That was at rank 5 or 6.

Fast forward to rank 25 and I just find out that engineers have 2 ammo packs. To use the 2nd pack you equip the mana turret and press B. This way you can have tank mines/c4 AND the ammo pack.

You're mistake at least saved me from doing the same luckily for me I've only spent on armor & my weapon so far but cheers for the heads up.

I've played since the first day of tech test beta, and only now have I learned of this :D
