Getting nerfed in GU11 which should be out tonight/tomorrow morning.

That's a relief, it was quite a shock when I logged back on :eek:

If it goes anything like the NC scatters you only have to wait a couple more months and they will nerf it again so hard it won't even be worth using anymore :p

The scatters were never worth using, their short range plus their semi automatic fire made them useless, i use the anti tank guns to kill infantry (it makes picking you max set out a whole lot easier)

They were very much worth using just very situational. Towers, Bio labs and generally any indoor defence was their natural habitat and as you'd expect a giant armoured suit with 6 shotguns for arms annihilated infantry in shotgun range. People who can't seem to understand that you fight the NC max from a distance whined that they couldn't just stand 5m away without being shredded until it was nerfed and now it is being nerfed again which considering the ZOE isn't even being nerfed very hard this patch despite Higby coming out and saying basically it's totally and utterly crazy OP, to nerf the NC Max again seems utterly laughable.

I love this game, honest... but sometimes...
 
I find slugs worth it now on my Max, been using slug + scatter / slug + ext mags + mattock and it seems to do well as a "sniper" that is standing well back from an avenue of approach and picking targets off at range.
 
Quite liking the new patch, the spawn shields actually go down now when the SCU does... That first Tech Plant we took after the patch went live, I can only imagine the poor VS' faces dropping when we started flooding in those doors :(
 
We were TR, with the PC Gamer Outfit.

You might have seen me running about at points, I'm in the PCG Outfit.

Loved that night, we fielded around 3 squads if I remember. Hadn't played in a while then came back for that night and got 94 kills and around 40 deaths in around 3 hours. Loved all the low level zerg that RPS brought with them :D We claim victory as we ended with more territory than we started with :p
 
I'm a complete noob, never played this before but played FPS before quite heavily in fact I would say FPS is my genre. Can you really not play this solo? Obviously I'll still work as a team with my team, what I mean is do many people actually use the in game voice chat?

Yes you can solo play if you like, but you will enjoy it a lot more with a outfit or in squads.

I'm a solo player at heart but I switch styles of play throughout the day, I will run OP's with my outfit, I often lead squads and platoons and lead or suggest orders in TRAM (outfits that work with other outfits).

But most often, I will just play by myself while in a squad or platoon, where they might be trying to do something else, I will be doing my own missions close by supporting them but joining them when they really need help.

People do use the in game voice chat but most outfits will be using Teamspeak and ask players to join them there since it's a lot better and easy controlled then in game. Personally I found the in game voice system just as good as Teamspeak.

I still think ZOE Maxes are still OP'ed. You are pretty much dead if you close range with them and it's hard to escape them since they run just as fast as you.

You do realise on AI weapons the diffrence ZOE gives is 1 less bullet to kill dont you? 1 bullet less from 2 machine guns.

People using ZOE in biolabs for anything other than the speed boost are stupid and want to die form a TR rocket in the face.

The damage buff was good against air (it got pretty much halfed in this patch from 30 to 15% in indirect damage) while TR lost 6% on fire rate and got a 20% reload speed buff for lockdown.

There is no point flying over TR owned land now, the striker spam was bad enough.

That and GU11 is causing some serious issues for frame rate, i get massive drops now to under 10fps for 60+ with no changes to settings, that hasnt happened since GU1.

Its very annoying cause i havent had a chance to check out a lot of things that could be good cause i just lag and die.

VS Maxs always killed pretty fast anyway, but it's not the damage increase that people don't like, it's the speed. Making them faster removes the biggest negative in a Max that it's slow lumbering speed.

The Striker has the same TTK as any other Lock-On weapon which is about 2/3 hits and every time I fly over NC/VS land, I pretty much get locked on a lot, well it's a given in a area which has a large enemy presence. If the Striker wasn't in the game, you still be getting hit by Annihilators.

Anyway, each ESRL has it's own good and bad points. Trying to drive a vehicle close to a large VS platoon or squads normally means I get hit by a dozen unseen lancers that strike me that I can't see but just see my damage going down while fighting the NC all I hear is "wizz wizz" as TV guided rockets hit me.
 
Really don't like how they changed the requirement for continent domination from 100% to 75%

Last night on Miller, TR removed the NC lock which they held for just under a week while getting a lock themselves, when I looked at the map. NC held Mao Tech Plant and 3/4 hexs and VS had a Bio Lab and 5/6 bases themselves.

Normally be really happy about it, but this just left me a empty feeling.

This was meant to be a quality of life patch, but it's far from that, vehicles have been nerfed even more with even less ammo.

My Flash had 170 rounds, I now have about 50 (I have it on level 7/8) which isn't a lot when you can fire 9 shots per load.

My Skyguard had ammo just under 900 and now am left with 270 rounds. If anyone has ever played with the Skyguard you will know how little that ammo is since you fire lots and lots at aircraft flying around.

I'm not sure about the Prowler, I should have 92 rounds but according to the cert tree, I should have 53 but in VR I had 92. God knows what's the truth in that and 52 rounds is so little when you locked-down, you run out in less then a minute easy.

There was no information before hand that they was going to screw with the Ammo supply for vehicles. Resource change I can live (yes 450 for a tank is insane) but on top of the reduced ammo supply, it's just more nerfs.

Been buying TH for everything now since I won't be using NV for anything anymore and if the Re-cert item ever gets added. 50 certs x how many weapons I have NV for will be spent somewhere else. :)
 
I like that change personally, continent locks are meaningless until they add more and proper lock outs anyway. At least now one faction can't park all their players in one hex and hold the continent lock against both factions due to lag.

Meaningless, what the only real aim and objective of the entire game meaningless?

You don't need a entire faction in one hex to get lag, just 48+ vs 48+ in two hexs next each other will do that for you.

Nothing worst then being a Burster Max with Lock-Down and you can't supply from Ammo Boxes and there is no Sundy about to rearm from. :/

Meaningless in that most of the time all caps by all factions were made at 3am when 99% of the server was asleep or on a continent nobody else was playing on so I struggled to care about defending them or taking them back when it was no achievement taking them to begin with. Plus ooo wow 10% off the price of grenades and Max omg!

The amount of times the faction with the Indar cap for example simply sat at the Crown, in a Bio lab, at Spec ops training camp or Scarred Mesa Skydock and were impossible to take the cap from despite having no territory other than that hex and being completely cut off from their warpgate was just silly and those battles weren't fun with the server near falling over. They should have added some kind of mechanic to make the faction lose the Hex after a while and force them to break out to reconnect with their warpgate/territory so they couldn't just sit there, but this change will do.

At least now caps will be achievable in prime time rather than continual stalemate in one or two hexes, and equally defending it will be tougher.

When we have more in terms of continents and general meta game then I'll be interested. For now having fun, winning an alert, having a good fight against a decent outfit and generally messing about with DL is what makes this fun for me at present.
 
Whats that one shot white dot that infiltrator shoots do? ta

It's called the 'Recon Detect Device', it shoots a little white ball that sticks to whatever it hits and then on the mini map emits a radar effect from that point highlighting enemies for you and everyone else on your faction.

It only lasts a short while but you can increase the number of 'shots' you have and the radius of the radar through the tool cert line on Infiltrator. Very useful and powerful tool if used well.
 
Guessing the 75% cont lock for alerts was a bug last night. TR on Miller got a dominating victory on Esamir precisely 3 minutes after it started :p
 
Thinking of signing up to this any clans going.

There isn't an OCUK outfit, best to just join a server, pick the faction you like the look of then either see if anyone here has an outfit there or look on the official forums. Most of the people posting here are on Miller, Woodman or Cobalt servers I think.
