*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

The Advanced Construction Engine, or ACE, was created to eliminate the need for the Engineer to carry bulky stationary weapons and fortifications in their new combat role. It contains a small, portable fabricator capable of constructing and deconstructing Nanite Blueprints on a smaller scale than seen at vehicle facilities. The ACE’s deployable MANA turret is available in both anti-vehicle and anti-infantry configurations, providing a deadly support weapon that excels at area denial. Engineers can also deploy a shield generator that provides temporary cover to friendly troops by absorbing damage that would otherwise be lethal.

And because NC are the best, we get an engineer pic too!

I logged back onto PS for the first time in years the other day, how's the EU primetime looking population wise, anyone know?

I noticed there only seemed to be one server now so I imagine it's fairly populated at most times, especially with the PS2 hype ramping up - is that the case?

It was good to see I'm still in my original outfit (lol) which is Formido. (character name same as here)

First encounter, I got wiped by 3 TR with chainguns - don't you just love going back to old games and sucking so badly while you get back up to speed? Hehe. :)

Know exactly how you feel, thought I 'd resub for a while to brush up the skills

Died very quickly, could not for the life of me remember the controls

And to top it off I 'be been subbed ever since I stopped playing the first time round

No wonder I'm always skint, stoped playing 6 years ago:eek:

Best time to log on is after 4-6pm. Before that it's fairly low pops most of the time.

There was / is quite a few people using rof / cof hacks on PS1, so don't be suprised to die quicker than you think you should, even when you are used to it again.

And then there's the odd high ping / CN / PLA players who can take enough damage at times to kill a Max.

Fun all round :)

People who bought last months (I think) copy of PC Gamer US got a beta key in the mag. However, its useless at the moment as the beta hasn't started. Anyone who got a beta key from there, as well as all former Planetside subscribers will get first access at the beta. If they will start inviting people who signed up to the planetside2.com beta at the same time, who knows.
