They can't have a current sub base above 1000, many of them of them are from russia and china, they will not listen exclusively to that bunch, everyone ho ever subbed to PS got an email asking for suggestions for planetside next, I do not think that that tiny little community will have had any impact on the development of the sequel

Lol, you obviously don't know SOE then.

Most of the changes were due to the minority, not the majority ;)

So I don't see why we are talking about this in the first place, because there guys never listen to their playerbase anyway, so whatever it is they want, I can promise you it wont be in there.

Unless you work for SOE, you can't promise anything...

Maybe there is hope for what was the best MMOFPS, maybe Smedley and SOE have learnt from their mistakes?

Maybe this time they do indeed listen to the majority unlike last time which pretty much ruined the game?

Since Smedley has already "stated" there will be no BFRs in PS2, least that's a start.

Everything is a "maybe" in todays MMOs... ;)

If they do make a Planetside 2 type of game, then they realy need to make some changes compared to planetside. For example planetside was fun, but I found that the bases you capture although fun, they had no real worth to them other than to unlock access to capturing other bases. I think teams should be able to take any base they want at any time, but have to be tacticle about it (for example taking the base right in the middle of a load of enemy bases may cut off enemies getting to the front line, but it will also cut of your own support getting to you easily).

Personally some of the other changes I would like to see in a new MMOFPS is proper flight, not just having all aircraft being able to float on the spot. Also I would think it would be cool to have a better way to view 'the big picture', like a large area map that shows enemy who have been spotted (and how they are represented is determined by how they are spotted, for example a radar in a base may just show a blip of varying size, but an up close man on the ground spotting the enemy would show more info, such as vehicle type, things like that). I don't think there is anything major that needs to be change, but there are so many little things like I just mentioned that I feel could make the game a lot more tacticle, and have a lot more meaning in taking the objectives.

Good god no.

Then we'd all just be resecuring Interlink / Dropship hacks every hour.

In a way, any empire can hack any base they choose atm anyway. It's just that they need to drain it first...

Another problem is a lot of the player base don't care about tactics, just the k/d ratio.

This can easily be proven by counting how many times a day you'll find 10+ NC / VS / TR whoring in a tower for hours on end :p
