*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

Yes, the Beta hasn't begun yet, it's still in Tech Test phase as they delayed the 1st phase of beta at least until Friday/Monday.

Also, there's going to be several stages of Beta so you're not guaranteed to get into Beta at it's 1st release as it's staggered.

General consensus is, current PS1 players are due to be allowed into the Beta 1st, followed by former PS1 players who don't have a current sub, along with PCGamer beta key holders. Then the E3/Game Show beta keys, with Twitter & then the normal Beta registrants on the PS2 website.

(Might work totally different to that in reality :P )

Sooo I'm seeing plenty of Smurf and Elmo love going on.... where's my Barney's at?

Sadly work has taken me away from much tech test time but I'm hoping to get back in today.

Smedley did a AMA on reddit the other day. Seems like a genuinely awesome guy some good answers on planetside 2 as well. Beta is 99.9% ready for monday it seems :)

Why do I need to be quiet? Making assumptions aren't you? I'd like to very much hear how the technical beta is going, something wrong with that is there?

I'm not making assumptions at all. Firstly they don't NEED to do anything, secondly I want this game to be successful and get lots of players, if they lift the NDA and allow people in the technical test to release videos of an unfinished game that will most likely have plenty of bugs then this will put some people off so less people will play and SOE will focus less resources on the game so it won't reach its true potential.

I would happily not be able to watch any videos if that meant we got a game that had lots of resources focused on it so it could reach its potential..

Yup, as no one will let you know whats happening in the Technical Beta as its under NDA.

You've taken my comments far too seriously, and yes, you are making assumptions, shut up.

I'm not taking them seriously, I was merely pointing out that SOE shouldn't listen to fools like yourself who make stupid comments then pretend they weren't being serious. Perhaps you should just be quiet and before you make yourself look anymore stupid..

Erm... yes, that's the point.

So why would anyone risk telling you whats been happening in the Technical Beta? Do you not get it that if they did mention how the game is etc they are likely to get banned from Beta?

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding you or you're misunderstanding me?

Either way you'll get a chance to check it out next week if youve applied for beta.

Beta was likely ready for last Monday too. Saying its likely to be ready doesnt really mean anything.
