*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

You could try "instant Action" instead, that sometimes drops you quite close to the front line, all you do is open the map, click on a battle and then press the instant action button and it will then drop you in a pod thing directly to that area, much quicker than running from the nearest spawn point.

That's what I'm talking about though. You instant action nearby, but as soon as you get killed you'll often spawn some 500+m (1000+ isnt uncommon) away. Also, if a base gets taken shortly after you instant action there, then you're stranded there more or less for up to 5 minutes whilst waiting for the cooldown on the instant action button, unless there's another fight not too far away that you can take a vehicle to.

Just received my M17x R4 with 7970, hoping Planetside now actually runs :p

I find that after about the third time of making a ridiculously lengthy run to get to the battle, only to be killed as soon as you get there, you lose all will to play and end up logging out. :<

Can I have your account ;) Im looking forward to this, I dont have particularly fond memories of PS1, the mechanics were great but the sheer pointlessness of fighting for the same territory over and over again made me want to kill myself. So my expectations are low :)

Since explaining why I created the profile would potentially break the NDA I will gladly explain it on the PS2 forum if you ask in the thread I linked :)

Quick Q

My mate played planetside years ago and still has his account details, can he still get into the beta or is it too late

cheers

I ain't even jelly. :D

Guys, might be worth turning off FXAA to make everything much more crisp. There's a config change somewhere to do this.

Whats FXAA

Im running everything at high and it seems to run really really well, any advise on how to make it better ? :D

NDA has been lifted according to planetside universe, would post the link but phone is playing up.
