*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

Ironwarrior nobody is saying the game is without issues, but you raging about it continuously is getting boring. As others have said if you're getting this worked up about it maybe you should walk away and do something you actually enjoy? Firefall perhaps if thats more to your liking.

If you genuinely believe the dev team are incompetent etc and everything else you've said, walk away, don't give them your money and do something with it you actually enjoy because it clearly isn't worth your time or money at this point.

+1

Anyway, I haven't played since the patch - how are the tunnels working out?

Not bad, they serve a purpose, but not amazing - you won't be having PS1 style corridor sieges.

I just hope it is the groundwork for a later patch where tunnels get fleshed out into battle areas with hopefully even some objectives being moved down into them.

Certainly does feel like playing a pre-beta of PS2 all of a sudden, just not worth playing atm. Thankfully it has only been since the latest patch (friday) that things are bad so hopefully they will get on top of the problems soon. In future hope they learn to keep patches on the test server for longer and make sure much more scrutiny goes into testing it.

I'm used to online games having problems at the start but not three months past its release. Although new patches on other MMO can and usually does cause new problems, I have never seen it on such a scale. Lets hope this will be last time they unleash such poorly tested patches.

Still love the game though and paid for yearly membership(@£70) plus bought some station cash @Xmas, so I invested @£100+ into this game (still have plenty of SC left though). Don't mind taking a break from it for a few days/week or so till they sort it, just hope this will be a one-time or at least a very rare occurrence of the current state of affairs. Hope I will still be playing this regularly after a year of its release, then I will know I got my money's worth.

Vanu Forever...

Any sentence with 'nerf' and 'magrider' in it is a good one ;)

I know right, I love the sweet tears of Venu raging all over the forums and in game about them finally getting a right deserve nerf, hope their aimbot laser weapons are next.

So I read that they meant to have fixed turrets and tanks today that allows them to work again, but they haven't got a clue on what is causing the other major issues like the crap performance and FPS issues.

Haven't played since the patch really, the current state of the game is unplayable for me, doesn't seem what settings I use, it doesn't affect my FPS at all, it's always the same.

Did I gripe about how bad the colour system is yet? Because that's crap, I first used the faction colours which turned all TR red, I thought yeah, that makes sense, it's our colour. Got myself a Mossy, left the Warpgate and saw a Lib coming towards, it had a Red nametag, switched to the guns and started to fire it, started to see the stop shooting icon flare up when I was hitting it, but kept hitting it a few more times, then a light blub came on and relised what I was doing, quickly /telled the player to say sorry for the friendly fire.

Flew back to the gate to repair since I took some damage from the tail gunner and try the colours again.

I decided all green for TR and red for VS and NC, it's better then anything but it makes everything green, computers, capture points, vehicles, infantry, Alpha Squad is green anyway.

/palm face moment

I hope they can fix this by allowing you to select what things in game are what colours, that be nice or add a "classic mode" back, that be the best and easy fix before allowing players to choose colours for X or Y aspects in game.

Even through, I spent £90, I haven't got much to show I think, I only buy to make myself fully effective in game.

3 Camo's for Infantry and vehicles
1 Extra Bruster for AA Max
2 Mercy's for Max (recent purchase)
That Nas launcher for both air and ground targets (newest buy)
TR's mini-chaingun (which is crap really, but it's fun to use)

So far that's everything for infantry! I haven't worked out what weapon I should buy for my Heavy and other characters, I hear the Bulldog and T-50 are meant to be the best for the Heavy.

I likely buy the SMG since I heard it's totally OP'ed in game.

After that, I have the Helbred and Vulcan for my Prowler, HEAT for my Lightning (Love the Lightning, I use this a lot more then my Prowler, it's so fast and small, love flanking sides of battles to attack groups of infantry). Twin Bulldogs for my Sund, Grenade Launcher for my Flash (so much fun) Tank Buster for Lib, AP/AT cannons for the Lib, Bulldog for the Lib, the AA gun for the Lib, two AA guns for the Galaxy which I don't really use and the first purchase was a mistake when I meant to buy the AA gun for the Lib. :/

My first purchase was the M18 Gun and Rocket Pods for my Mossy.

After that, it's just been 50% XP boosters that last 7 days which I seem to waste a lot. :(

Amazing how fast you burn SC and I have brought SC twice in the double SC days.

Really don't have to save 700 certs to unlock weapons, far better to pay a bit and spend the certs in upgrading them.

Personally, I hate spending money for items like these, would had been a lot better if the game had a retail price.

Surely the real question is what sort of idiot spends £90 of money they don't have to on a game they clearly dislike?

I spent £37 on 15k SC (during triple SC). I've used it up now, but there's not much more that I need, and I could easily do without. Don't regret any of it.

Played for the first time since game update 2 last night and enjoyed it. Our libs were getting trashed by naughty MAXes/HAs hiding behind shields and mosquito swarms, but we took out plenty too.

I don't think anyone dislikes the game, they are just annoyed to see a game that they know can be great basically go down the ****ter. I've spent £80 quid on it so far and hate it right now, but only due to the patch causing crazy frame rate stuttering.

Have a bit of patience guys. The game is amazing. Yes, they introduced some nasty bugs with the patch but they are working on it. It's still playable - i played for 3hrs last night on Woodman.

Does anyone here play PS2 and use a ATi Radeon 7950? Having some issues with overclock and this game, wondered how any other 7950 users were getting on??

Aside from the recent patch apparently messing FPS up - have they done anymore CPU optimizations on the game? last I played must have been December, one big turn off for me was the gargantuan bomb on FPS in big-ish fights/particular areas solely down to lack of CPU usage.

An unrelated question to the performance issues which yeah can cause problems, such as mine seems to crash every hour or so. Is if I uninstall the game "I am wanting to reformat my hard drive" all character details will be saved online so I can just log back in once the game is reinstalled right?

Benj0145 I would say that a lot of people are having issue with this game, i have a HD 7970 and still can struggle. What sort of issues are you having? as a quick fix can be to lower your render quality setting from default 100 to around 80/85. this seems to help a little.
