**Official Portal 2 thread**

I remember later on in the game (near the end) i spent about 5 minutes repeatedly getting myself killed (mashy spike plate!!!) before asking Antar wtf to do then doing it wrong as he described it but solving it anyway. Then later, 5 minutes being very confused, asked Antar, the absolute moment i closed the overlay i figured it before he replied ><

I was mostly defeated by being blind rather than not figuring the puzzles out at least :D

BTW has anyone played a decent amount of the coop yet?

Does it get to a point where you and your buddy need repeated split second timing to get through it or is it more clever than 'annoying'.

I ask because my usual friend who I coop most things with is kinda put off puzzle coop after we played 'splosion man on the 360 which just got freakin annoying when you began to need a long series of perfectly timed coop jumps to get through levels and if one of you messed up even slightly you had to restart.

Didn't mind a few bits like, as its pretty awesome when you pull it off, but it was relentless in that game.

I've played some Coop. It's certainly more clever than annoying, some nice puzzles.

I wouldn't like to attempt this game with a random or without any sort of voice coms, that's for sure. :p

I have racked up about 2 hours of Coop so far.. think we've almost completed all content though, there is 3 stages each with 6/8 levels I believe.

Hopefully they'll be some nice user created maps coming out, because so far it's great.. but just too short. The community could come up with some great content, no doubt.

Ive finished the coop today, first thing i did. Must say some of the puzzles were amazing took a lot of thinking about. I cant imagine doing it without voice coms we had difficulty enough with the timing with it.

Not sure how long it took to finish but iirc there was about 5 stages with a varying amount of levels per stage.

Theyve implemented a tf2 style customisation for the coop bots as well, so you can have different heads hats flags and random things, sadly it seems ive only unlocked a flag through doing the whole campaign. Hopefully they will support it as well as they have with TF2 that would be amazing.

I cannot understand the people speaking out against this game as it's absolutely brilliant and a great blast to play through. I would criticise it for the loading screens which were nearly constant and sometimes even interrupted the action but that's about the only thing I could criticise. The main campaign is very well done with the characters excellently performed and some great set pieces (My favourite was still the manual override of the wall). Perhaps at times I felt like I could have been doing more at the beginning rather than what seemed like endless walking and I would have liked more timed puzzles but as it stands the game was still extremely enjoyable.

Does anyone know what the music is called at the end of the co-op campaign?

Edit: Also, where were these:

Enjoying the single player a lot, havent tried co-op yet, but its been a while since Ive sat down and played a single player game for 3 straight hours (probably back when HL2 was released).

Loving the high velocity massive long portal jumps :D

coop stuff

Cheers, just have to convince him to get it now. Yeah I can imagine comms are needed, no worries about that though usually end up cracking the beers open and LANing it (or well as close to LAN as you can with steam games). Much more fun in person when you can highfive/scoul/scream/victory drink! depending on how well its going. :D

apparently portal 1 players had a problem with the fact everything got sucked in apart from chell so it was removed from the game.

Just finished co-op and the solution to the final puzzle is the best thing in any video game I have ever played. Never smiled so much, can't say any more for sake of spoilers :)

Liking it so far and don't want to open a can of worms; though am I just being paranoid now or does it have an overall blocky, console resolution, look? I thought the same about Crysis 2 although maybe as, I said I am just freaking out. :D

Sounds good, I haven't tried co-op yet but just completed the SP game and its very satisfying :D

Got stuck 2 more times, one for so long I felt sick and was paranoid something didn't load in the test chamber but when I finally realised what I needed to do I was kicking myself and then another part I just wasn't jumping correctly :(

<3 Valve :D:D:D

Wow, just took an hour to work out TC19. This may take longer than I thought.

Not at all, it looks great. Blocky? No, we have AA. Some of the textures are nice too.
