**Official Portal 2 thread**

I've about a day on this, 2.5-ish runs for SP and 2 for Co-Op. Got every achievement and all that's left now is dev commentary, hence the '.5'.

Need more...must feed the fiend!

DLC add-ons soon hopefully. Don't give a damn if they charge a good bit for them - I'll eat Mi Goreng to balance the budget!
 
just doign a bit of the dev commentary 97 days just to calculate the physics for that opening container sequence :o

Your spec should easily play the game at 100fps+ surely?

The only time I saw low fps was during the last part part where the box breaks out of the glass case and the glass shatters, I saw 21fps there and that was on a GTX460 with 4.5GHz i5 Sandybridge!

Although this was 8xCSAA and 16xAF.
 
Just had time to finish the SP tonight. Verdict = great success! :)

It took a while to really get going with some of the puzzles, if valve (or modders) decide to release some advanced puzzles with time limits and more quick reflex portaling then that'd be a guaranteed sale.

Now to try the co-op over the weekend - if anyone wants to add me on steam feel free!
 
I, for one, will be on the mumble server tomorrow waiting for a coop buddy to get frustrated with, so if anyone else is looking to start it just hop on there and join whatever channel I'm loitering in and we can get to it. Probably easier than trying to arrange times to meet up etc. I have the whole day off too :)

me & mate did co-op earlier in 2 sittings without mic. Seeing as we didn't have mic it often turned into a spamfest of 'look here' lol, but we did it :D
 
Loving this game. The comments by the ai/audio recordings are still top notch and very very funny. Merchant has done a good job too. I enjoyed crysis 2 and I am loving this. Bring on the rest of the year, witcher 2, Deus Ex, DN:F etc etc.
 
There's a real sense of depth and scale in this game. I often felt my stomach churning whenever I was making extreme jumps. Just awesome.
 
Portal virgin here. Feeling like I ought to try this out at the weeknd though.

Don't let me down guys, I have high expectations now!
 
At the moment Portal 2 only has 8.2 on MetaCritic from users ... a week or so ago it was quite a bit lower too... i think it's a great example of why you should never take notice of user reviews, especially on that site. It's a fact that 1/3 people are mentally retarded, the proof is literally everywhere in daily life.

You get things like "The game is good, but not groundbreaking in any way" only for the idiot to still rate it 0.

It's the best game of the year so far. Can see it getting GOTY awards. But theres good stuff coming later this year like Skyrim so it wont so clear cut by the time this year is over.

The first few days Metacritic was full of trolling with people giving it 0 because its 'too short' or because 'it has $80 of day one DLC' or because 'i overexaggerated the potato'. Since then they've stopped though.
