!!**Official RAGE Thread**!!

Added a 1,1gb version of "The Well" gameplay to OP. Some of the lower res textures are noticable in this version, the most obvious being on the engineers console, but running it in full screen its still a pretty impressive looking game, worth the download to get a decent impression of the game imo.

Link is now dead by the looks of it.

Original link stil works for me, not sure what the problem is. Added the fileplanet link to op.

One thing bugging me about the gameplay, the enemies seem to do a Doom 3 disappearing act, after you kill them the bodies lay there for a few seconds then they start to dissolve into a black cloud. Hopefully the fix for this is as simple as it was for Doom 3, just ends up looking weird if you've killed a bunch of enemies, come back 30 seconds later and the enviromnment has no trace a battle even happened.

This looks like what Duke Nukem Forever should have been.

Maybe this and BF3 will force me to get a new graphics card in october

I noticed that. Not many games do this, for example bullet holes that remain, enemies that are still there if you come back later (if you are able to backtrack at a later point that is).

If consoles are running it at 60 fps I doubt it's gonna be that demanding on the PC, Carmak has basically admitted the consoles are holding back the PC technically.

The point of the engine is that it's dynamically scaleable, it'll scale back things until it hits the desired frame rate. 60 FPS on consoles in itself isn't an indication of what the PC version will be like.

/\ yup, plus on the pc we'll be playing with fsaa and much higher resolutions. Id assume the consoles will be at 720p max, possibly even less than that.

Added shacknews hands on to op :)

Also added a quote to top of OP referencing how much disk space the 360 version requires so probably a bit more for PC.

And added previews from totalvideogames, bit-tech and spong 0_o

What is the system spec on this? checked the steam pre-order but not showing.

im guessing something on the new Idtech5 to be pretty high spec.

my assumptions would be minimum

Amd II or Intel Duo Core
Nvidia GT250 or ATI aquivalent with 512mb
2GB Ram

Recommended Specs
i3/i5/i7 intel or Amd Aquivalent
Windows 7
Nvidia GTX4 Series or Amd 6 Series GPU with 1gb Ram
4gb Ram.
