Was a bit concerned after watching the videos as the graphics looked a bit low res and too consoley. But. After watching the excellent video interview with Carmac and the id team celebrating their 20th anniversary on Gamespot the excerpts from Rage look really good.

PS. I've spent 20 years pronouncing iD as Eye Dee but its actually pronounced id as in hid without the h.

Just watching Carmack's speech.
I'll give the game a go.
Just worried that with the consoles it will end up being a Crysis 2.

I'm currently replaying Doom 3 at 2560 x 1440 and it looks bloody amazing, even after 7 years.

Yeah the gameplay is a bit samey but it still makes me jump outa my seat at times.

Id doubt that, 2 big name releases from id in 2 years? Most of the dev staff are still working on Rage. Id say 2013 at the earliest.

Game has been confirmed as a Steamworks title, so buy it wherever it's cheapest.

Well they've spent 7 years developing a rather clever scalable engine that will hopefully keep everyone happy and wont **** off the PC gaming fraternity too much

Let's not forget. Carmack invented the FPS genre.
