Neil Hudgell has been fined £1000 by the RFL for his comments. He has confirmed he is appealing the decision and is "looking forwards to presenting my case". Good on him, I say.

Accepting the fine is the same as accepting you were in the wrong and that you made a mistake.

I've not seen anyone apart from the RFL disagree with Neil's comments.

Personally for £1000 I think we should all send Neil cheques for £1 and then he can post them to the RFL and they can deal with banking them and paying the processing fee on them. Even less per cheque if enough interest!

Amazing win for Rovers last night, especially considering the amount of injuries we picked up before and during the game, finished with only 13 players so no interchanges left! Practically faultless performance from Rovers against a misfiring Wire. I don't know what's up with them this season but they just haven't got it, maybe they miss the likes of Briers and (given his outstanding performance for Hull against the Giants) Carvell.

Brilliant atmosphere throughout from the Rovers fans, but then again it always is when you're in front for the whole game. Took a couple of mates who are from Manchester to their first RL game (City and Utd supporters mainly) and they absolutely loved it, the whole experience. Lost my voice for about 3 hours, it was just a whisper at the end! Talking like Kurt Cobain this morning. But I don't think you can spend a better £20 than that.

Weyman and Costigan bossed the Wire pack the whole game, Weyman in particular was brilliant. His first try was fantastic, who knew a big prop forward could carry so much pace to be on the shoulders of the wingers to score in a break away try?!? Travis Burns though, was absolutely outstanding, pulling the strings from minute 1 to minute 80, everything he touched turned to gold. Now all he needs to do is replicate that sort of performance every week, he has been far too inconsistent for my liking.

Disappointed though that Wire knocked us out of the cup, it was a very closely fought game and it was probably just the bounce of the ball that cost us the victory.

That's a good win. Wire look like they are in a bit of a rebuilding phase. A bit of surprise to hear that their pack was pushed around, but Weyman and Costigan are good forwards - Costigan is a bit of a hard case I'd heard.

The Wigan game was poor. Wigan played like they did in the 6 weeks leading up to the play offs. They did the bare minimum. London had what looked like a good try ruled out that would have out them 16-0 up. Wigan will get battered if they turn up like that on Friday against Sts.

Costigan is a bit of a hard case I'd heard.

He took a while to get going and get up to fitness but is now looking like a fearsome defender. He is like Jason Netherton on acid.

Talking to a Wire mate he was saying that Briers early retirement has caught them off guard a little bit but they have had more than enough time to get a replacement. Losing Morley, Carvell and Hodgson have also been massive losses, if not for their energy and exuberance then definitely for the experience and game management that they brought. He was also not that enamoured with Myler, Bridge and Ratchford now pulling the strings.

Michael Dobson has played the first 5 games for Newcastle and looked pretty good. Jarrod Mullen is first choice and made his comeback this weekend, leaving Dobson in reserve grade. If he ever decides to come back over here there would be an almighty scramble for his signature. He'd be a good fit for Wire. He is always welcome at Wigan no matter what shirt he is wearing after saving our arses in 2006.

He is only on a 1 year deal with Newcastle, so it is not completely out of the question, but I think he will stay over in Oz for a few good years yet if he can. He's saved us on more than one occasion but I've got to admit it would be saddening to see him back in SL not wearing a Rovers shirt!

I can practically smell Derby Day! Train up from Reading booked for tomorrow morning :D

Its our derby tonight. Looking forwards to it but I just cannot predict an outcome. Usually the methodology is to look at each team's recent form, find the one with the best form then pick the other!

A little concerned about our discipline tonight, I fear FC will do their level best to get in the faces or Poore and Cockayne, the challenge is not to rise to it!

Working tonight so not off over to Odsal. Should be a good game, usually is over there. Watching the Hull derby on TV, atmosphere is cracking!

Discipline costing us so far.

Dubious decision in not awarding a Rovers try there...not sure Hall knocked that ball forwards...

I literally cannot believe what I am seeing here, some absolutely ludicrous video referee decisions going here. Lost for words. Seemingly legitimate try from Larroyer chalked off. What a joke.

Forward pass for a FC try. Hall judged to have knocked on on the line and Larroyers try chalked off because Salter who was going in for a tackle pulled out at the last minute but couldn't stop the collision was then deemed a shoulder charge after the ball had been dropped by the FC player. Farcical.

Nothing less than we deserved. It would have been an absolute travesty if FC would have won that game.

Edit: I've calmed down now, but watch out Makinson, Big Mick Weyman is closing in on you with his 3rd try in two games! :D :D

Dodgy decisions? Obscure rulings that haven't been penalised for years? Blood pressure sky high?

It must be the James Childs/Tim Roby show! If I'd been a KR fan I'd have thrown the remote through the TV with some of those decisions.

Made up with the Wigan result!

The Rhys Lovegrove one was particularly odd. I mean, it definitely wasn't a try, but it was most certainly a ball steal, there was NO WAY it was just "dropped over the line". The Welham try I understand now, Caro was offside at the ptb. The Hall "knock on" was also pretty ridiculous.

Been out cycling all day and missed all the action, but Saints first loss had to come some time right?

Wigan seem to be coming good, while Warrington are going from bad to worse! Cas look good under Powell and an average Leeds performance dealt with Marwan's money pretty comfortably. Salford made us look small in the forwards I thought. Some more odd team selection choices from the Mac . Achurch had a good game!

Already looking forward to Saints on Saturday in the CC. That will be a "HUMDINGER" :p

I'm sad to say it, but Bradford were pitiful. They are the worst team that Wigan have played this year, and that includes London. I've seen some classic games against the Bulls in recent years and I hope they can turn this round. Their fans deserve better than some of the half arsed defence on show today.

Jon Bateman is a real find for Wigan. Him and Liam Farrell are full of aggression and pace - just a pity they're not a few kg heavier.
