Very poor quality game it Widnes v Rovers today. The first half was dire, Rovers error compounded by a Widnes error until the ref blew for half time.

I'm sorry to say it kemik but I was surprised at how little Widnes offered today and I think three times they seemed to forget it was the last tackle and turned the ball over without asking a question at the end of their sets.

An unexpected two points with a very much second string side (key players being rested for Wembley). Still can't see anything other than a Leeds win but you just never know! :)

The less said about that game the better...

Good luck for Wembley!

Good weekend and enjoyed the day yesterday, game was a bit 'meh' - always good to get the win, though.

Glad to be back up t'north, London irritates me :D

It needed Leeds to be off their game (and they weren't - but they never got out of 3rd gear tbh) and HKR to be at the top of their game (and they most definitely were not).

Feel for their fans. I've been to finals where its obvious that your team isn't going to win after 20 minutes and it's not a good feeling.

I'd play the enitire Leeds backline (with Jack Reed in for Joel Moon) against the Kiwis. Sam Tomkins has had a recurrence of the knee injury that kept him out for half the NRL season, so the Hardaker/Tomkins argument might not be an issue. I'd have played Hardaker anyway - Tomkins could play in the halves

Yeah, I agree, Tomkins would provide the utility in the squad if Zak were to get injured. HKR should be proud of what they achieved tbh, great effort in beating who they did to get to the final and that. Just a shame it wasn't a bit of a better game on the day!

What an anticlimax the final was. Never been so disappointed at a Rovers performance. Never even looked like scoring and Leeds were quite simply flawless and thoroughly deserved the win (and the scoreline, to be fair!).

Oh well, Superleague status confirmed with another easy win. Not sure I'm convinced by this Middle 8s competition. For Rovers it has been a complete walkover and for the Championship teams it very much hasn't...

Quite a surprise result at the Shay today with Halifax upending Leigh. Surely that is the end to their promotion hopes.

The million pound game is surely between Wakefield and Bradford? Hoping Bradford make it as Wakefield were woeful during the regular season.

Wakefield are going to get away with it again. They spent money on experienced payers and Leigh have imploded. It will be a long time until a Championship club breaks through (I'd love Bratfut to get back up though).

Test Matches coming up. Anybody going to any? Just the one at the DW for me.

Leigh not playing very well at all today and Bradford have been completely on top. Look a different side to the one that was demolished by Rovers last week.

Bit of a shame really as I was hoping they would have made more of a go of it. Gareth Hock again proving why he's a total liability. Just a thug, every single game I see him in. If I were a Leigh fan, I'd want rid asap.

Nice signing for them, but they should put some faith in their own. They have some good youngsters coming through. And Fages isn't incredible, I'd only put him above average.

Well, does this Super 8s format work? Leigh win the league by far and then end up bottom of the Middle 8's table with no promotion. Fair?

Sad to see a few players leaving Widnes today. Difficult when they are passionate but management make weird decisions.

Roll on February! Bradford v Wakefield should be interesting in the meantime...
