Official RX580,RX570,RX560 and RX550 series review thread

Despite the 295X being half the price of the £2400 Titanx2 and a global Nv price increase>inflation has nowt to do with any Geforce branded argumet so doesn't take an educated person to realise you knew exactly what I was taking about.

No, I really don't know what you mean about re-tiering. You make a good point about the TitanZ(?) but my point is that none of the current Nvidia line-up is at a price point that both companies haven't already used. So I don't see how they're raising prices, no the 1080Ti isn't as cheap as the RX580, but it give a huge performance boost so it's unrealistic to expect it to be £300.

AMD pulling out PC discrete isn't wanting anyone going out of business, AMD have been struggling for years, not sure many are as surprised as you are that they haven't gotten anything out, especially after the many public announcements in 2016 that they couldn't compete until Q2 2017, but glad they didn't hold up a paper mache gpu last year on stage.

As an NV user maybe I could list a few of their failings over multiple posts, compare them negatively while at the exact same time showing AMD in a better light than they probably deserve ?

Going out of business, pulling out of the discrete GPU market, whatever. I don't think anyone is hoping for no competition regardless of which company remains as the only discrete GPU producer.
Nvidia may have shown off a paper mache GPU but at least they've given us some high end GPUs for the last couple of generations. I'm less bothered about what they hold up on stage and more worried about what I can buy. If Nvidia want to hold up a photo of the new GTX 1180 and then actually sell the product a few months later I'll take that over AMD holding up an ACTUAL RX480 with a RX680 sticker on and then a few months later release the RX480 with a RX680 sticker on.

Taking into account were talking about a £2400 v £1200 mgpu card as an example instead of using single gpu pp as the baseline comparison then I've never saw any $1200 single gpu AMD gaming cards before.

I'm reading your replies as being a wee bit obtuse due to you discussing Nv's re-tiering anyway, you don't agree but that's ok.

It's almost the same thing except one never said they couldn't compete until next year and the other said they'd try to compete next year showing working early prototype hardware, again one isn't a bigger issue than the other imo but it obviously is to to others it seems.

I'd be annoyed if AMD kept rebranding the same card and keeps the price point static, but not to the point I'd feel I need to come on here and wind up the locals, so AMD could do as many rebranding as they like going forwards providing they keep the price per performance in line in the natural progression of gpu's.

If AMD don't deliver a good pp in line with Nv's performance with Vega, I'll be negative, other than that all I'm left with is instead of dragging yourself to the minority of the levels of those you keep describing, you aren't any better than them, can't you post something constructive some of the time instead of baiting the AMD user or do you just enjoy winding them up?

Why does that matter, other than the fact you don't really have a point unless you start making the distinction between how many cores a gaming card has?
So by tiers are you talking about price tiers as you seemed to mention tiers and prices as 2 different things or tiers as in high-end, mid-range, low-end?

You did feel the need to come in here and take part in an argument though? then blame me for the argument, it takes 2 to argue.
Why do you have to make everything into a "you're baiting" argument? Can't we just be having a discussion?
And why was it me that starting it? I replied to someone else's post so why aren't they the one that doing the baiting?

Can I post something constructive about AMD rebranding?
Best I can think of is, at least there will be some decently priced RX 480s &470s.

Now if AMD and partners had just released this as a BIOS update for the RX480 & RX470 cards then I think everyone would be praising them!
(Assuming this is actually true)
It's a Polaris rebrand so there's no reason it wouldn't work. Manually overclocking will get the same results though so its a bit pointless.

I doubt all 480's could manage the 1411 mhz bios so would not be a good idea for some. The stock clocks should be easy easy for the majority. Even though it is a re-brand they do seem to have improved the cores to take higher frequencies.

Under the impression I'm in a discussion not an argument, I'm now thinking it would have been easier to just have listed X amount of Nv stuff instead of giving more respect by asking you why the need to stir it up where as I didn't have any respect to respond to the other ones?

Try asking yourself that maybe, just maybe, folk get fed up with all this and(despite not having any previous opinion) that I really wanted to come in and have this discussion just for the lols?

I have no clue what any of that was supposed to mean.
You always seem to make these things personal and I'm not gonna go down that road any more. I think I've made my point (and probably repeated it a few times) so I'm going to leave it there.

Glad I didn't wait around for the RX580, literally grabbed the PowerColor Red Devil RX480 (8Gb) whilst it was on offer about 2 weeks ago. Does everything I need it to do and more, very powerful and sturdy card.

Glad I went and purchased my XFX RX480 GTR Black edition before Xmas, it turned out to be any excellent buy, the 580 offers really nothing over my 480.

Instead of taking the 'making it personal' out of context as I'm repeating again by means of giving you greater respect than I give others here by appealing to your better nature and hoping you'd wind down the negativity-my bad for trying.
