It Just Shows Dolby Digital+ 5.1
Hi I've just tried Netflix and Disney apps on my Sony XF and both only gave DD+ 5.1. tried on my Firestick 4k and Netflix was still in 5.1 but Disney I was able to get Atmos. I tried Guardians of the Galaxy 2, on the room screen in Sonos app it shows Dolby Atmos and in the About My System screen it shows Dolby Digital Plus (This is the container used). Tried Lord of the Rings show on Prime and can get Dolby Atmos there as well, so not sure why Netflix wasn't working, will have to investigate further.Samsung UE55MU7070
I was quickly watching The Forgotten Battle.
I'll try something else
Curious why you would recommend this when none of the streaming platforms use DTS and the only way to get DTS is physical media. Is it personal preference or have you had issues with DD+?Use Neo.
Currently missing something Sonos for the lounge so think it's only right to add a soundbar to the mix for the TV.
I think the Arc may be a bit overkill.
Is there a vast difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Beam? I'm weighing up the pros and cons of that or if I should just save some pennies and get a Ray.
Most of my watching is via Plex with DTS tracks, then again I don't own a Samsung TV.Curious why you would recommend this when none of the streaming platforms use DTS and the only way to get DTS is physical media. Is it personal preference or have you had issues with DD+?
That explains it, I was worried I was doing something wrong or missing out. This is why I love forums, always learningMost of my watching is via Plex with DTS tracks, then again I don't own a Samsung TV.
Thanks for this. I'll make sure my TV is on DD+Curious why you would recommend this when none of the streaming platforms use DTS and the only way to get DTS is physical media. Is it personal preference or have you had issues with DD+?

Just to update I've now got a new C2 and Dolby Vision and Atmos are just glorious. Dolby Vision is so nice to look atThe streaming services IE Disney and Netflix use Dolby Digital Plus to send Dolby Atmos so you are fine with HDMI ARC. You need eARC for lossless Atmos, IE Blu-ray audio.
My Sonos Beam 2 and Sub Mini is way better after the 14.18 update. I noticed the improvement to the bass straight away.
If anyone has the previous sub too, let us know your thoughts on how it compares. I recently moved my sub from the lounge 5.1 setup to a pair of ones and am considering a sub mini for one of these setups and the full size sub for the other.
I did a direct comparison yesterday. There's a definite difference between the two and as you'd expect the Sub sounds better than the Sub Mini but I'm not sure it sounds £320 better.
In my house the Sub is in the living room and Sub Mini is in my study. If I didn't already have the Sub I'd be perfectly happy with the Sub Mini to go into the living room.
