I would just sell up and get Skylake or a second hand 4790k. IMO AMD have been rubbish since the K6 era

very doubtful. Its in Alpha stages still and already far better than anything I have ever played. I have now even put more time into this than BF2 - 60 hours so far!

Not a true BF2/PR player then? :)

Enjoy Squad, just a few things that annoys me. Then again, I'm playing a lot of ARMA 3.
 
I've done 7 hours already and only got it on Monday :D Can see that ratcheting up pretty quickly!

I think I'm convinced now, it's upgrade time. Just got to work out how to sneak it past the boss :D
 
The skylake 6700k that i have is great on games, it also stops games dropping to low minimum frames overall, look on youtube etc, keeps frames up.

Do you think in terms of Squad, the performance is worth the premium over a 6600k? I keep reading conflicting views of i5 vs i7 gaming performance, but then this is particularly CPU heavy so . .
 
Anyone know if you can use mouse buttons on this ? reason I ask is I now have this but can't get any of the side buttons (Razer deathadder) to work. I assigned them to Sprint and pistol and none of them work :( they are configured in the mouse settings as keyboard letters, so T to sprint and Y for secondary weapon)

I assigned two buttons to map and talk last night, worked fine straight away. I did it ingame though not mouse settings

I use mouse buttons on G502 for talking.
 
Great patch, big thumbs up to the team!

Feels smooth again on a 72 man server and I am running the ancient i7 920... ;)

Side mouse buttons working for me.

Not sure really, i was upgrading from like 7 years ago, so i did not worry about paying the extra for the 6700k, i dont think they will make much difference, as long as there clocked the same.
 
So have any of you guys tried being a medic yet ? I only ask as the new bleeding / Dying symbols on the map as a medic are hideous.

Fair enough having these symbols for your own squad, but for the whole team............ Someone bring me some lsd.
 
One thing I noticed with the patch is that the player place marker on the map doesnt have a very clear 'pointing in this direction' marker any more so its harder to know if you pointing in the correct direction on the map quickly.

Suppose I will just have to get used to it or use the lower compass more

haha, yes I was medic and hated it as I couldnt tell what the hell was going on on the map. I quickly switched to sharp shooter (M4+optic?)
 
Its just too much imo. Sure its a great help but i think it needs to be limited to your own squad for the time being. Everyone was moaning about the symbols so i decided to try medic and see what they were on about. Yeah, they have a point.
