i7 [email protected], GTX 980Ti classified, 16gb Ram. 1440p max settings with SweetFX reshade mod I get 50-120fps on most maps. One map is a killer though with 72 players and cripples it down to about 45fps. Reshade drops a few frames but is worth it as colour is a lot better and it adds (or appears to add) AA

I've played ~11 hours now and I'm loving the game - definitely a big adjustment to be made movement-wise... having spent the first hour sprinting everywhere, I feel like I'm getting there now.

Had my first game as a medic last night too which I really enjoyed - It was a strangely satisfying experience; sneaking around and reviving players, whilst not actively seeking engagements or over extending myself unnecessarily.
 
Despite not seeing a single enemy I ended up with one kill and about 15 deaths. Why do I like this game so much :confused:.

lol, my first few attempts were bad, but not quite that bad!

Didn't win many friends on my first spawn as I looked out of a window, identified a target with no friendly tag and took my first few shots.

"That ****** just shot me!" I hear on comms seconds later. :(

Thanks. I was the same, spring through a field and you stand out like a sore thumb and get blasted from either a sniper or someone waiting to ambush you.

You soon realise how much you stand out when you reverse roles and go up high and play as a marksman or sharp shooter and watch as people run and you pick them off easily. When they move behind cover - walls, trees, prone in grass etc. they are much harder to see or shoot

Step 1
Download the SDK here: http://downloads.joinsquad.com/Squad-SDK-a5-v1.rar

Step 2
Unzip the SDK anywhere you have enough space for it

Step 3
Open the SDK folder and double click the Squad project file

Wait 20-40 minutes for shaders to compile for the first time

Step 5

Make dreams come true


What is included?

  • All environment assets up to our current 5.2 release are included
  • Fools Road and Logar valley example maps
  • Russian faction is setup to spawn a single rifleman with single weapon

Known Issues

  • Due to removing a lot of our core art assets some of the physical material setups used by the maps will show errors when loading example maps. This is fine and will not affect your map
  • There may be some static weapon assets in the environment folders with broken materials. They are not to be used currently.
  • While the default US player models are still in the build they are not setup to be used as a team (You could figure out how to clone the Russian team though). Please don't try to use them as a faction player without first understanding how they work.

Something like a small 9 vs 9 (1 squad) map would be good where each side has a small base / stronghold and there are a few objects inbetween to hide behind. Sort of like paintball

not sure it'd ever happen but i'd like to see opportunities for smaller squads like 2 x 5-man squds per team on a smaller map. been playing more of squad lately and it really reminds me of airsoft.
