Dedicated server software would be nice, Seems there are a bunch of servers either Full or Empty. There is definitely a need for more servers. Any reason dedi server software being dragged out

True but all the good ones are always full, So its either a full or empty server
lots of French and German too. think there is a need for More UK servers that encourage comms tbh. Just my feedback after playing i struggle to find decent servers some times. Dedicated server software would allow clans to really get into this game.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^hopefully auto join be in game
Should be able to use Steams auto join feature for that already.
Doesn't work from my experience
1. Selecting a server from the steam server list connects you to a random server and not the one you selected.
2. Joining on a friend also connects you to a random server and not the one your friend is playing on.

I found the Steam server list said the Squad server I wanted to join was unreachable, joining via Squad menu was fine.
What server you playing on?
Talking of steam, when is the player count bug going to be fixed?
Few questions for those that have played this + Arma
How is this any better/different from Arma? It looks strikingly similar only with less features and probably something an Arma mod could have achieved with a little work.
This is a genuine question and in no way meant to offend anyone, I see Xcept1 is involved with Squad so would be interested to hear his take on it. What do you guys hope to improve on? Arma is great but can be frustrating at times due to performance issues and so on.

We have redone the way server configs are done and added them to one central file. No longer do you need to ask yourself "What file should this go in?"
We also have changed the way admins are done. You now great groups with permissions and assign admins to those groups in a single admin file.
We also have a single ban file... But wait! that isn't all!!! You can now subscribe to other servers banlists!!! Manage a few servers and want them to all have the same bans? Just add the url in the config and it will load all those bans!
If all goes well with testing these should be out soon! So admins... we thank you for your patience while we worked on these features! This wont be all, we still have more in the works, but just wanted to give you guys a heads up.
What will be required is you will need to migrate all your bans over to a new format and a new file. You will also need to migrate over your admins and assign them new permissions. Stay tuned, as we get further into testing I will publish out the new format so you can start getting your migration ready!

i like the ban list thing thats good we have only banned 1 suspect cheater so far
