Must say I used to think the same way but had real fun playing as BH, and Imperial Agent looked wicked too. Best way is to try them all I guess! Really looking forward to this game now, was worried it wouldn't deliver. Still early days, but promising.

Thoughts graphics were great too.
 
I will end up playing all classes, because each have a different story quest line :)

I'm starting with the Imp Agent. I'm guessing most would like to start Sith/Jedi's just to wield a ligtsabre :P

You may be right, glow sticks never really did it for me though. More a Ham Solo or Bobba Fett but as I prefer Imperials it could well be a BH for me :)
 
It's not releasing until April 2011 at least now :(

Electronic Arts confirmed today that its highly anticipated, Bioware-developed Star Wars MMO, The Old Republic, will be released some time in the company's 2012 fiscal year, which starts in April, 2011.

Speaking at the Credit Suisse 2010 Technology Conference, which Gamasutra listened in on, EA CFO Eric Brown said this was the first time the company had gone on record with this target ship date for the game.

In a May presentation, Brown said the game was "not expected" in fiscal 2010, but today's statement was much more definitive about the release timing, placing it sometime in the nine-month window encompassed by the 2012 fiscal year and the 2011 calendar year.

Sounds like they're not gonna rush it out unlike Warhammer Online.

This can only mean we get a more polished game when it launches :P
 
If i think Bioware has what it takes after a month or two from release, i'll play as a Soldier or Imperial Agent but the chances of me paying for another subscription if it isn't free or doesn't have a lifetime subscription are very slim now, unless my brother buys it.

The days of Jedi Knight type games are gone now, i doubt a 3rd Force Unleashed will be developed or multiplayer will be added, it appears they're slowly phasing Star Wars games out now, as if they're relying on The Old Republic to bring in the money and success.

Not at all if SWTOR cuts the butter then it will spur on a lot more space, and starwars type games to be developed. Bioware make greeat games, and people on the beta are very happy. Just wait untill it's here :D
 
If theres a lifetime sub im getting it, but i doubt there is.

Its been a long time ive been this excited about a game. Ive already picked a name for my character, done a rp background story for him. And ive already joined a guild which i have been selected as class leader for the sith warrior:D

I think that would depend on how well it cuts the butter. SWG very much cut the butter, was an utterly brilliant mmo in its early days, but it didn't spark an increase in space games. I would think its a little over zealous to exclaim that it will kickstart a genre, at least not unless it gets 10+ million subscribers and shows that you can rival WoW without having wizards and elves, otherwise fantasy will still be where its at in terms of Rp games.
