I'm downloading the test server client right now, hopefully I'll be able to get some good testing in before my subscription ends, as I assume once it ends I won't be able to access the test server.
 
Nobody knows the exact EU ratio across all servers except BW. On all servers in general the split was 47-53% (Rep-Sith), source: Guild Summit. They can juggle factions on servers to get a more even spread.


I think many people know that really is not the case, also a lot of this stuff is from way back in Feb.

I'd resub if they added server merge/xfer, I talked to an existing player on my old one and it's even worse than I imagined, I simply don't want to go back to that and I am not wasting time rerolling. :(
Although I'd probably play it a friend who's never played it had a go and went Imperial.
 
Lots of great changes. Took me a good 40 minutes to read through it all.

Sadly not much help if your server doesn't have enough players to take advantage of stuff.

Still the biggest issue for me as well. They are adding some very good stuff, but if they aren't prepared to acknowledge that some servers have low pop and merge then i won't be resubbing.
 
I would imagine they will wait until after 1.2 settles to consider server moves etc, they will want to see how many return or stay after the big changes before they make a move.
 
Lots of good stuff in the patch notes, even if a lot of this should've been available from the get-go. I'm not a fan of sweeping balance changes; much prefer incremental & surgical changes over a longer period. Some of it makes sense ofc; one thing that really stands out is that sage/sorc pvp healing got massacred.

I will agree server populations will rise again after 1.2 launches.

The problem I can foresee, is that BioWare will use this as an excuse to not offer server transfers. Then watch a few weeks later as server populations die down again as people get bored of the new content.

On another note - next to no changes for Assassins/Shadows? Come on! Darkness/Kinetic Combat is broken at the moment, far too much utility without sacrificing damage output compared to Deception/Infiltration and Madness/Balance builds.
 
No sign of any changes hood related, do recall a Q&A said hood toggle's wouldn't be in 1.2 though.

After reading the whole notes, it's fairly decent on a game systems/content front but disappointing/wtf are the devs smoking on a class front. Baring any major changes over the testing period i can see me unsubbing soon after this is released.

Although not liking some of the Sage Changes - the proc for Noble Sacrifice (if I've read right) will still take HP off you :(
 
No beta test for me it seems. I downloaded test client, connected and what character do I find? My level 31 marauder. The marauder I haven't played since beta (because it was a beta character and was wiped), I even leveled the character to 50 in the beta so this transfer of my beta character must have happened a LONG time ago.

I give up trying to care about the test server, with a level 31 beta character I can't do anything, the legacy system doesn't work as he doesn't have a legacy (and I can't see a way to set one), even if I could set a legacy I can't do anything with it as he is only level 31. And I can't level up as my weapons and some other bits have had requirements changed since beta and are now unusable.

Darkness/Kinetic is a jack-of-all-trades spec and king of 1v1. In 8v8 rWZs I expect they'll be outclassed by more specialised ACs. E.g. not having a charge will hurt (you can jump a charge if you can predict it, but that doesn't help much + root/stun, speed is much easier to counter). So no nerf to Shadow/Sin is okay from a rWZ perspective. In lower tier pvp they'll still dominate, but I doubt that'll be BW's focus with their esport aspirations (:Dlol)

Completing Act 1 (from doing the missions listed under Class in the Codex) will unlock your legacy. You usually get it around level 25.

The fact they want people to test this patch for them and still don't have any form of usable character transfer system in place (they have a manual one apparantly) is just silly.

Bad enough they released Oceanic servers then told the people that would want to transfer to them that the transfer system won't be available until at least April.
Wouldn't really mind testing the patch but having to download the entire game again (the patcher won't just copy existing install and update it) and having to level from scratch just puts me (and probably lots of people) off.

Don't agree that any spec is meant to be best in 1v1. Pvp isn't balanced around 1v1 so it can happen that one spec (or a few specs) dominates 1v1, but that's not by design just a side effect. (IMO of course.) Pvp is balanced (if at all;)) around 8v8 and my prediction is that infilration/deception will struggle in rWZs and kinetic/darkness will not shine nearly as much as under present circumstances. Happy to be proved wrong though as I rather like the concept of sins/shadows...
