Is there any actual benefit from the light/dark side alliance tier system?

So far the only difference i've experienced was that a red colour crystal needs dark tier 1, and I picked up a green crystal once that needed light side tier 1.

Is that it or am I missing something?

There is a light and a dark vendor on the fleet station. They sell relics requiring varying degrees of light or dark, some simple armor bits, a pet and a level 50 mount.

Also there are a very few things in the story that it changes, like one of the sith warrior companions has a light and a dark version of herself that you get depending on which you are.

It's full of people who think they're amazing, but in reality, people who gloat are actually rubbish.

I'm a casual player btw.

ToFN is good for casual, I've re-rolled on there (yet another re-roll :( )

WZ's seem decent, pretty good win rate for Republic. If they do actually fix open world PvP, then this will be a great server to be on.... unless they do not fix it soon, then all the PvP types will have left :(

This depends on the choices you make during the missions leading to them becoming a companion actually, not your own alignment. Which did you choose? :P

Hi all,

I've started the trial of this and I am quite liking it, although concerned I'll get sucked in. I'm only a level 5 Jedi Knight, but already regretting my name change. One thing I'm worried about is that I can't be bothered to play the game with other people, I don't have time for guilds, and I can't be bothered with going on voice comms to talk to people. If I need to play bits which need groups, I'll happily team up with randoms.

Can I play the game in this way? or will I quickly find it difficult to progress?

I play it in that way.

Ok cool.

Am I right in thinking that it's £18.99 for 2 months? That seems quite high, I'm worried because I'll likely play the game for a couple of days, then not for 3-5 days, then I will for a bit. I wish they let you buy game time in a way that you bought, say, 24 hours, and as you played the clock ticked down.

So I just got an email from Razer telling me that the "new SWTOR keyboards and mice are now available for pre-order"... kinda says it all to me really..... that this game wasn't supposed to be released until April this year.

I really think if they had waited and released it with "patch 1.2" it might have stood a chance. Emphasis on might.

They had me as a paying customer while the game was still, technically, in beta. Nothing they could do now would get me to go back.

TERA is where I will be spending my monthly sub! Thank you!

The game has its issues, but not so much that it should have been delayed all the way until april. The game is still doing better than some other MMOs at launch and the devs are putting more effort in than I have seen some other companies do. I think it's silly that your not even willing to give it another chance when the game could have been so much worse, it was in a very much playable state unlike some games.

For me this game is a great way to pass time. I am not hardcore so I havent even got a level 50 yet, but I did stop for 2 months.

I recently got back into it and I am looking forward to the next patch. I think its a massive change to the MMO's for me as in story and settings. I dont mind if it has the same mechanics as WoW, I played WoW for many years. Granted their is GW 2 coming to our screens but I am still not sure if I would enjoy it. Only time will tell. But for me they still have my Sub and I am happy to keep going.

It does need servers to merge but atm I am on frostclaw so it isnt that bad.

Have to agree entirely, enjoying this game - had it a month now and have levelled to 22. Enjoying the narrative and the light/dark choices, though the sheen is starting to come off some of the longer interactive cut aways!

Its a different take on the MMOs I have played in the past (WoW, Lotro). If I had one complaint it is that PUGs for Heroic/Group missions are tricky to get even at 'peak' times, which is a shame as I like to try and clear a zone of all quests before moving on (OCD alert!). I guess this is down to the server populations and hopefully there will be some consolidation at some point.

Have posted on here before, but still looking for a Sith Empire guild on Frostclaw, as much for the chat as anything else (never seen an MMO with so little chat!) so if anyone is recruiting lower level players please chuck us an invite ;)

Because the game is kinda new, and if you are on a very populated server like ToFN, you will find lots of people unguilded, you don't really need a guild to enjoy the game while lvling and playing the story in my opinion. Every time i need help for a heroic mission i just ask in general and pretty much get help straight away, the same goes for flashpoints to. This game is really good for playing solo right now.

I always thought that this was a good point. You dont need a LFG Icon that does it for you. I found that taking a little time to get to know other players is a good thing. I think people have gotten lazy and want everything done for them, and get the rewards for doing nothing. Rather than working hard/taking your time/making friends that could come along and help.

What you and many other people suffer from is the lack of understand that not everyone's server or play experience is identical to yours in being easy to find groups.
They believe just because it was for them, it must be for everyone and then air this opinion without mentioning it may not be the case on other servers.

Because truthfully some are so bad, it's the complete opposite of what you say.

Dont get me wrong I do understand where you are coming from, I have had that problem with one of my characters so I left him alone and started on a different server. If you see my previous posts I have mentioned that a server merge is needed in some low servers.

I was just pointing out my experience with the game. I dont suffer from anything and I dont lack any understanding.
