*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

I will be transfering TOFN to Red Eclipse next Friday.........

I'm Empire only by the way, aesthetics and all.

-Wescar is a Sith Juggernaut Tank, 55. I've just finished getting 162 rated gear for him, moving onto elite gear now.
-Lyiah is an Imperial Operative Healer, 15. Self explanatory.

I spent about 300k on the slots and got nothing. Sadly it was all my money.

Also made a completely noob mistake and bound the Bantha mount to me even though it looks terrible only to realise that I could've got a good few million if I had only sold it on the GTN

I really wanted another Rancor, considering i had one as a pet in SWG Pre-CU and then turned him into a mount during the NGE, so i was prepared to spend.

Joined Apostles of the Force on TRE, lively guild with 17 members on last night before i logged off to go to bed.

Double XP from 1st July to July 7th, also servers are down from 8AM - 3PM.

I'll be rolling an Operative just to get the cunning buff and then deleting her, as i have a Vanguard and a Juggernaut, and that's more than enough characters for a casual player like myself, considering i pretty much stick to one character in an MMO.

YES!!!! spent about 600k overall but got the rancor and two Vectron Magnus's...shame i cant sell the spare vectron. Chuffed with my Rancor though.

Coming back to this after trying to get into ESO but it's just doesn't have the same 'fun' factor and story telling that SWTOR has.

I've played several MMO's when i got fed up with SWTOR, but i found myself comparing every game to SWTOR, so i went back and joined a decent guild and i'm thoroughly enjoying the game. If you are on The Red Eclipse server and are either on Republic or Sith Empire, add Lyiah (Republic) and Wescar (Sith Empire) to your friends list.

All i have installed now is SW:TOR and Planetside 2, the only games i need until Metro Redux is released.

Fired this up again after a very long hiatus. Cancelled my sub in March 2012 I believe.

All the F2P stuff - cartel coins/collections/bundles has me baffled....I don't know what I need to pay for and what I don't. I am presently "preferred" status (whatever that means).

Im perfectly alright with spending real ££, but I have no idea what is necessary and what is superfluous....any help here would be appreciated.

Since everything has changed so much I rolled a brand new Smuggler on the Red Eclipse. (My other chars are on ToFN, and I don't feel like levelling on a PvP server this time around.)

However I would also like to roll a Bounty Hunter - do I have to do so on a different server?

Thanks

-First of all, become a subscriber. The preferred and free to play players get seriously gimped compared to a subscriber. http://www.swtor.com/free/features

-Secondly, once you're a subscriber, the Cartel Market will be simply cosmetic and you get 500 Cartel Coins per month, so no need to spend more there, and you can purchase Cartel items off of the Galactic Trade Network in game for credits. The Cartel Packs are simply a chance to get an item, it's not guaranteed.

-Thirdly, subscribers get 8 character slots per server, so you can create a Smuggler and a Bounty Hunter.

-Lastly, join a Guild.

Thank you for that link, it covered everything I wanted to know regarding F2p vs Subscription.

Subbing seems to be the way forward, but wow....they really have broken it down haven't they? Restricted chat? Quickbars? Amazing.

Still a quality game though. I had forgotten how good the companions, crafting, and class stories are.

Regarding my other question, are you able to create a Republic Character and a Empire character on the same server?

Thanks again.

Yes, you can create a character for both factions on the same server.

Hey guys,

I play quite casually at the moment but am still interested in doing flashpoints / raids at some point.

Are there any active Imperial guilds that would take a casual that also does regular flashpoints/pvp?

Cheers
