BBC said:
North Korea's football 'flops' have been given a six-hour verbal roasting in front of hundreds of government officials for not winning the World Cup. Coach Kim Jong-Hun, 53, was made to work on a building site and expelled from the Workers' Party of Korea.

I smiled.

I'd love us to sign Ozil, if the quotes about wanting to play for Real Madrid are true then he can go **** himself, I'm fed up of players heads being turned by Real Madrid.

I reckon Stephen Ireland would be a very good addition to any of the top teams in the league if he leaves City. He's got the talent there and it's being wasted on the bench at City.

Well hopefully Santa Cruz is on his way...around 8m to stoke apparently but i see Fulham making a bid...and he will go there because of Hughes....
In other news Mancini has gone back to Italy due to a family illness :/ ive got a feeling its to do with Balotelli though..Balotelli's representives wanting to speak direct to Mancini etc...That leaves Brian Kidd and David Platt in charge tonight against Inter :( (1am Espn HD ;))

i hope not for 8 million.

He has been injured far too much

Indeed, I hope he comes to England, would be fantastic.

The difference is it wasn't 2 million less, it was 2million less in one lump sum upfront. The other deals for what 11mil was it, were installment plans, meaning maybe only a few million then and there, it makes a LOT of sense for a club having trouble paying wages that they want 9million that minute to try and avoid relegation/administration, rather than 2 mill extra, that they won't see for 3 years.

I was just going off the statement, either way a debt owed to Pompey at the time of their administration fight is still worth having (depending on the difference in the cash given on the day of the deal)

I know what you mean, but it's a short career, they can all live in Madrid after they retire from football. :p

plus in Manchester you dont get the battle of the egos that you have in Madrid lol, or the board running the pitch side of the club

Its also debatable as to whether RM really have a chance at winning the league (Im only comparing RM to Barca, vs Chelsea to Man Utd ....and anyone else, so its a fair bet Utd have a better chance than RM imo)

You are forgetting the special one. No one in their right mind would have picked inter to win the champions league but jose lead them to it. Hopefully Ozil has a liking for slightly more 'german' weather.

No just a bit fed up with players wanting to join Real Madrid, then they sign for them and sit on the bench, get very few games and then leave 3 yrs later having achieved sweet fa.

But all the big teams do it. Pick up promising players and then they never see the pitch again. It's just that Madrid are at the top of the pecking order.

He might think that he is better than the players there and just be very confident. Or he could be deluded and end up watching the games in the nice sunny weather :D

He is still young so he might be sold by the glamour of Madrid. Glamour and Manchester dont really go well together. :p

Looks like the Aurelio rumours were true. He's reportedly signed a pay as you play deal tonight and travelled with the squad to Germany for our friendly tomorrow.

Excellent news if true. When he's fit he's a fantastic LB, imo our best LB since Nicol, unfortunately he's not fit that often.

edit: It's now confirmed :)

Hmm...cant decide if I'm happy about it or not. I'm not really a fan of Aurelio tbh. Nicol was awesome, Bjornebye I liked too, Aurelio though I just havent clicked with, I prefer Insua.

On the other hand, it saves us having to spend to buy a left back, so thats good news. (though I had kind of got used to the idea of Figueroa now and was actually looking forward to that possibility)

When fit the only thing he lacks is an extra yard of pace. He's a very good defender and his delivery is 2nd to none.

We're still going to have to sign another LB with Insua leaving though, we can't rely on Aurelio staying fit.

edit: Just seen that Insua's also in the squad for the friendly tomorrow, looks like the Fiorentina deal is off again.

Hopefully Insua will stay and then Aurelio can be his cover.
