Utd?...Typical tbh....(even if its just the Carling Cup) so why did you take it so serious last year? bacon face said "he was going to play the kids"....what did he do...played the full team just so we didnt beat you.

lol i dont think he will leave...but your going to be left with a very unhappy player :/,
Just read BBC Gossip column and seen that we are going to go for torres again and if that doesnt happen make a 20m bid for Forlan....Now i would rather have Forlan than torres tbh

I'd take Torres over Forlan.

When your clubs got more money then sense I don't suppose it matters though.

:/....Who do you support?
and we havent thrown money at everyone...weve strengthened our team but because of our owners we get quoted a higher price than everyone else :/

the wages you are handing out to all and sundry is throwing money around

Nothing to do with transfer cost at all (which is seemingly what your post indicates) :)

I'd take Torres over Forlan.

Had to repost because it was so funny :)

I supppose in most leagues Forlan would probably score as many as Torres in any given season...........only because Torres would only play 1/2 the games due to injury

Not sure Forlan would want to come back to the Premiership for a team not already winning things , hes first choice where he is and scoring loads for them, where would he be at City 2nd behind Tevez ?Maybe 3rd (depending on Ballotelli)?

I think Torres just has youth on his side.

Forlan is coming to the end of his footballing life, he didn't exactly hit it off last time in England, was it 10 goals in 63/64 games?

As I said, when you have more money then sense I don't suppose it matters.

Who said anything about him being unhappy??...he wont be leaving this season unless Barca come in with a big offer but so far Arsenal have told them to go sling their hook..they wont even entertain sitting down with Barca.

But as for Fab being unhappy about not being able to go to Barca??...if he really really wanted to leave Wenger would let him but all he has said is that he would like to go back to Barca...he hasnt said anything about being unhappy or wanting to force a move...Fab owes Arsenal a lot as we have made him the player he is. Also remember Wenger doesnt keep players that are unhappy;).

You have...i mean paying Yaya Toure almost £200k a week is just throwing money down the pan...he isnt that good either if he couldnt keep a starting place at Barca;).

It's the wages and the fact they overpay. Last season for definite, didn't they near enough double/triple players wages? Agreed with Yaya Toure, decent player but not £200k or £20m+ worth! And if they pay £30m for Milner, too.

I highly doubt he is on 200k pw....there is no confirmation is there?
Tummy that was a very bad buy for 24m i agree and tbh i dont think were throwing money away its just the owners wanting to give full support to our managers and Mark Hughes took advantage of this and made some terrible signings...Santa Cruz,Lescott,Bridge...

I suppose your right in saying Torres would be the better buy and i would have to agree if we get him fully fit which i think we can do because we have other strikers who can play while hes injured etc unlike Liverpool who rushed him back because no one else was scoring when he was away.

EDIT:I hope and pray we dont pay 30m for Milner who had a great season last year and will do this year probably but 30m is ridiculous and i think Mancini is smart enough to realise this hence why we havent been back after 20m got rejected....however i wouldnt be surprised if Villa came back and took the 20m

You are just trying to throw money at a team.

30 Million for Milner wouldn't surprise me.

You paid 24 for Lescott, who wasn't even the best defender at Everton.
You're paying silly money in wages to players.
You're paying silly money for average players.

Torres would be the better buy. You don't have European football though, which is a big thing for a lot of top players.

Just out of interest is there any exact quotes from the conversation between AW and CF after the world cup in reference to "it was the most difficult conversation I have ever had with Arsene"?

(I believe it was words to that effect anyway from Cesc) - if the meaning of the quote above is correct , surely it implies he wants to go to Barca asap?

hmmm Im not sure CF "owes" Arsenal - surely it could be looked at that he has held your team together for the last two or three seasons - arguably even before Henry left. I dont think it can really be argued that without him certainly for the last two seasons its unlikely you would still be top 4 (of course it depends on who would replace him - but lets say 2 seasons ago who in that position was ready/available for £ AW would spend to replace him)

I know the other side of the discussion is that he relatively recently signed a long extention to his contract :)
