I think this thread is coming to an end, will leave it a little while for any more discussion re the transfers

I'd give it till the end of the weekend, stop the bickering etc. If there becomes a lot of free transfers, can always make one for that I guess.

I've forgotten the ruling, can loans still be made, or is that only after January for a certain time frame?

It's alright I got what you were referring to, I'm not that slow all the time - that's why I rephrased the question so that I wouldn't get another smart**** answer. :p

//edit and now it's a 5* thread. :D

Course it is!

I wonder who the one Leeds missed out on was? Apparently on deadline day someone decided to stay where they were. Could have been Lansbury I suppose. I think loans can still be made though.

[{Goalkeepers:} That I chose to feature]

Tier 1: Cech, Reina
Tier 2: Buffon, Akinfeev, Schmeichel, Given
Tier 3: Howard, Robinson, Gomes, Cesar, Lloris
Tier 4: Van Der Sar, Adler, Sorensen

([Didn't make the shortlist:] And therefore I don't think should feature in the {tiered} system)

Dida
Palop
Ricardo
Casillas
Valdes
Neuer
Whoa whoa, Buffon tier 2? Your having a laugh! He may have had a injury plagued few seasons, but hes still better than the lot of them!
Plus, the best sign that that list is void, is the fact that you've even bothered to mention the liability that is Dida.

Dida! Ahahahahaha!

Hahahahahahahahahaha!

Sorry I've composed myself now. Buffon inferior to Cech and Reina? What planet are you on?

Problem with the stats is that they are potentially skewed.

He might have been playing against weak teams and it's not really enough games to judge him in. And of course there's other factors like the Russian League might not be as competitive as the EPL etc.

Andy Carrolls a good example. He's scored 4 goals in 3 games but I think a lot of people are waiting to see where he is after at least 18 - 20 games if not the end of the season

Also last season Liverpool were a champions league team so that's not saying much :p

The English league is a lot more physical than the Russian league - even at reserve level - and surely given that he's a youngster from the Serbian league that's a big thing? He's a winger as well, built as such. Ljajic and Jovetic are the same - built for their role (winger and inside forward respectively).
