My Fritz at stock + 4bins is good enough for me. The extra 6.5% BCLK is not worth the risk

Ive never played with the bus speed since the core2 days, as I quite nervous doing so, as ppl on here and the web says it can damage your system:eek:

LOL!! PPL talk nonsense. I run a lot of the time at around 109 BLK on IVY fine.

Digging through my photobucket account just now and came across this fritz screenshot.

Cant for the life of me remember if the cpu was at 4.0 or 4.2 for that one, (i7 920) cant even recall if i was running 6 or 12gb of ram either at that time.

Here is my Fritz chess benchmark score next to my specs.

Updated the main thread (I got suspended for a few days...)

Wazza, how the hell do you get such a high score?

Guys, scores in benchmarks are nice, but tbh ive noticed very little gains in games. Im pretty new to pc's and overclocking. I cut my teeth on cd2/cq2 as far as learning to overclock. I found my sweetspot with x58, (i7 920/30). Tbh, im very underwhelmed with the performance of my current i5 3570k. In a few instances, it's actually been a slight downgrade from my old i7 920 setup. Anyone else found the same?

You need a multithreaded chip,I had a golden 920 d0 4.2ghz @1.23v,I do miss it because it was a rare one but other than that my sb/ib is much snappier and uses less juice/runs cooler

4.2ghz on 1.23v mate, that isnt golden, thats platinum chip territory. My old 920 done 4.2ghz with 1.3125 vcore, qpi was actually pretty mild at 1.32v with 12gb in a 3x4 setup. It was a better cpu for the games i play, (bf3 that loves hyperthreading). Got an i7 930 here wazza that ive had game stable at 4.3ghz, amazing cpu's, just need to take the time and stabilise it properly and maybe try it with the gtx 670 i have in sig. Might actually make me switch systems.

Your 3570k scored 13168. I think you'll enjoy your system better running the 3770k when you eventually upgrade, the hyper-threading really does make a difference.

Cheers wazza. Added your score vonex.

Current gen. AMD is never going to beat an i5 or i7 on superpi single core but I have shown the Fritz at 4.9+Ghz
