Wonder when the likes of the NanoHD will be upgraded to a new Wi-Fi6 version. Got a cabling project once Tier4 ends to start. Thought about purchasing two NanoHD units and selling the Lite, Pro and FlexHD. However it'd be better to prob wait for the updated Wi-Fi6 versions..

Might have a look on ebay and MM for used items.

NanoHD isn’t getting updated to WiFi6. The base 2x2 access point is the UAP6-Lite which fits in for the old AP-AC-Lite and AP-AC-LR. The AP-AC-Pro is 3x3 and has basically not been directly superseded. The 4x4 UAP6-LR is the AP-AC-Pro/AP-AC-HD/AP-AC-NanoHD slot and there might be another access point above those with a faster network port.

Might look at specs of the UAP6-LR more as it’s near NanoHD pricing.

The Pro covers the house pretty well when I did a crude test location the other week. The exception is the garage/garden doesn’t get coverage.

Sonos kit is a bit weird at times :)

Sonos only support STP not RSTP, disable RSTP across all devices and manually set your priorities and it works a treat.

As already mentioned SONOS also creates its own WiFi SONOSNET, the more hardwired units you have the better, you can also disable the WiFi interfaces on units that have low range to others and hardwired to stabilise the network.

There are a few http url you can use on your Sonos devices to get SONOSNET status / strength etc.

It’s about time Sonos properly implemented RSTP and / or configurable path costs.

I've using the USW-Lite-8-PoE-EU and its pretty much been plug in and forget about it tbh.

Looking at the line up that looks like it's replaced Ubiquiti US-8-60W on the US store.

I was looking at the Flex 5 port switch, but a saw a comment that it doesn't support RSTP/STP.

Ive got a few USW-Flex switches as well and they don't but they are handy for lobbing in the garage and/or shed, as I have had to create a different USW Profile for these.

Spanning Tree Protocol, LLDP-MED and 802.1X Control isn't supported on them.

Ok thanks.

With a Sonos Port and soon to be a few other Sonos items I'll be seeking a switch with STP it. Also got 3 SkyQ boxes, that I intend on wiring in a turning the wirless off on.

They have a UniFi 6 Mesh (U6-Mesh-US-BETA) in beta access at the moment in the US, so I will assume it maybe due in the EU store shortly.

Powerful Wi-Fi 6 Access Point with 4x4 MU-MIMO featuring a small, sleek design and mounting flexibility for use indoors or outdoors.UniFi 6 Mesh Access Point is a Wi-Fi 6 access point that delivers up to 2.7 Gbps aggregate radio rate with 5 GHz (MU-MIMO and OFDMA) and 2.4 GHz (MIMO) radios. It can be placed on a desktop or mounted on a pole, wall, or ceiling*. The modern yet discreet design allows placement near users for optimal performance. UniFi 6 Mesh Access Point shares its form factor with the UAP-FlexHD, so UniFi 6 Mesh Access Point can use FlexHD mounting accessories.

I'm currently waiting on the UniFi Switch Aggregation PRO to come back into EA stock, as I missed out on the alert but I may also wait for final hardware and also the min controller version needed.

I run a US-16-XG as a core SW at the moment and it can bit hit and miss with firmware upgrades and then the SFP's need to be reseated and mines a rev.11 build.

Its in the EU store now but it’s on a Schuko socket connector and they have no plans to make a UK 3-pin version.

I have a customer who I recommended get a full UniFi system except the router which was be a Mikrotik RB4011. He didn’t want that. So he bought (from someone else) a UDM-Pro.

When it didn’t work (and it wouldn’t because the system I sold him had a Gen2 UCK) he phoned Ubiquiti support. They told him to join the Early Access programme and manually install the current Beta. And they talked him through it over the phone. Then they said, it’ll all work fine now. Clearly it didn’t because the underlying controller issue hadn’t been resolved so he phoned Ubiquiti support again and they said “I’m sorry but we don’t support Beta firmwares”. So he plugged the RB4011 back in and it’s worked fine ever since.

True story.
