Posted a similar question in the Sonos thread.

In the market for a new Amp and have both Sonos and UI, the UI Amp is just over £100 cheaper with identical IO but with 1gb network over the Sonos 100mb and a little more power.

Anyone tried the UI amp here, or the Sonos?

All done.

Few more devices to add in. But plenty of space for expansion.
Looks mega. I always find cabs wall mounted quite uncomfortable looking (brain overthinks the cantilever effect). I never question 600 deep kitchen units full of plates though

I tested out my U7 pro wall on the existing indoor cat5e I have installed, connected at 2.5 gbps no issues. This has led to me succumbing to getting a U7 pro to replace the nanoHD and a couple of flex 2.5G switches.

The nanoHD and a US-8-60W switch will be on MM shortly to join my UDM on there.

Anyone know if the U7 pro ceiling mount is the same size as the nanoHD or will I have to change it over?

I’ve just been sent some information regarding the setup required for Aquiss. It reads:

Additional Settings

Internet VLAN ID: 911
Internet VLAN Priority: 0 (Zero)
802.1Q Tag (Enable)

I can set the VLAN ID to 911 quite easily. The UniFi controller software does not seem to have options for VLAN priority or the 802.1Q tag that I can find. Any help appreciated.

Fairly sure 802.1Q Tag Enabled just means that VLAN Tags are turned on (which they'd have to be for VLANs to work). Priority doesn't matter afaik and 0 is likely the default anyway.

Made so much sense putting it up there.

You could always email Martin. He's good with Unifi stuff, he sorted some settings out for my Dream Machine SE.

I got a reply from him within the hour last time and he got it correct first time. Very impressed.
You weren’t wrong! Reply within the hour and he has confirmed those two settings are not required on the UCG! Very impressed by Aquiss so far but the proof will be in the pudding!

Have you joined the WhatsApp channel? He posts any service updates on there any outages you don't have to go hunting it'll 99% of the time already be on there with an ETA for it being fixed.

All done.

I appreciate this is at home and rack space isn't an issue, but please try NOT to get in the habit of spacing rack kit out like that. I've lost countless hours trying to re-fit kit in a live rack that's straddling a rack unit.

Look at the spacing between the screw holes and you'll see they're not identical and that can cause a problem.

What? It's spaced for practical reasons, I can fit my fingers in and insert new points without removing anything, no one else is ever going to be touching it. Not really sure what you mean about the screw holes not being identical.

The spacing between the holes isn't identical all the way down the rail - in my pic there is a difference between the size of the spacing shown as red and those shown as green

The screw holes themselves are identical, but the spacing between then isn't.

The UDM-SE at the top is spanning 2 rack units. The top 2/3 of of the top rack unit and the the top 1/3 of the second rack unit. This sort of thing really matters in an enterprise environment, particularly when you've got bigger, heavier bits of kit and where kit has rails with captive screws. It's a real ball ache to have some kit straddling rack units because due to the difference in spacing between the screw holes you'll often find kit won't screw in. Sorting that sort of thing once the rack has been cabled up is a complete nightmare.

As I said, I know this is your home rack and space isn't an issue so feel free to ignore me but it wouldn't surprise me somewhere down the line you find something doesn't fit into your rack and this will be the reason.

In a business install yeah that would result in ridicule and some DC would actually force you to correct it, at home not really an issue.

Depending on the rack they sometimes have a little arrow pointing to centre hole for the U or they can be labelled and underlined per U.
