*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

I recently had the same problem in work between a nexus tor switch and vxrail switch, new 25gb sfp's as well. I was prepping to rma the lot but found they worked without issue on a ios xe switch so did a little troubleshooting
Reminds me of an issue we had at a hospital between Nexus (well, ACI) and a Dell ToR for VxRail and someone forgot to tag something on a trunk and it caused a broadcast storm - lovely.

We too poor for aci (not my decision)
What made matters worse is for some dumb reason, they had everything on a flat /22 or /21 VLAN. I mean everything, including their phone systems and we were told the system which also handles incoming dispatch for 999 response. Nothing against the Dell guys who set up VxRail, but it's very much set and forget for them without much discussion for correct integration into existing networks.

Try it with fec disabled
FEC is interesting at the best of times.

I've had some quirks with an Intel E810 and Aggr Pro with FEC, and in the end, it was best left on Auto in this case, which is annoying as I like to create port profiles.

Tbh I have not had to change fec previously but have found a few issues that affect nexus 9k's

G6 Pro Bullet ordered.

Almost went with a G6 180 (was back in stock a little earlier if anyone was interested) but up-sold myself to the G6 Pro as I don't really need the wider view of the 180 but would prefer the better image sensor from the Pro.

In the longer term, pending my brother's house getting FTTP, I might then help them upgrade the Wi-Fi and security setup to Ubiquiti and the U6 180 would be more suitable due to the multiple / larger areas involved.

Now that I've figured out how I'm going to do my poe cable run I'm looking at getting the doorbell lite. I'd also like a chime (not got anything at the moment) but does it work with anything wireless? I'd like to have one downstairs and upstairs as the Mrs never checks her phone!

Do you use Home Assistant and smart speakers?

I have mine configured to trigger an audio notification to my Alexa when someone presses the doorbell. I did start it with 'get off the sofa and answer the ******* door' but wife was not amused.

Getting around 450 MB/s copying large files from TrueNAS using rsync to an NFS export from the UNAS 8.

The drives in the UNAS are pretty old with smaller cache, I expect speed to improve a little once I swap them out with the 16TB Exos I have. Currently 4x Toshiba 14TB drives (1xMG07, 3xN300) and 1x 16TB Exos in RAID 5. Once the data has moved I'll end up with 6x 16TB Exos in RAID 6 and a pair of SATA SSDs in Raid 1 filling the two remaining bays. I'll have to see how the cache performs once I start using it for real. I'll have a spare 16TB Exos I'll keep in case of any drive failures, and I'll repurpose the 14TB drives as backups in the UNAS 2, might even get a UNAS 4 too.

I really like the simplicity of the UNAS. Wishlist now is a decent app on IOS, hopefully some performance improvements, and more backup options.

Found a few bugs which I've been reporting, but so far very happy.

I have neither as this is my first foray into the camera side of unifi. I have found a wifi smart chime on the ubi site but it's almost as expensive as buying the doorbell! My other option is to go reolink with a dorbell and chime for currently £70.
