Might go a bit higher on that voltage but i feel they are not far off the max overclock in sli and i have no bottle to use a modded bios for more :P

First run on my new 3GB Gainward Phatom 3 GTX580 SLI:

@ 850 / 2010 on the GPUs and 4.2 on the CPU

Ill give it a bit more welly tomorrow :D

Damn you Seraph! I managed to get my XFX 5850 on Catalyst 11.7 through a bench run at:

1000Mhz core
1250MHz mem
1.25v vcore
Max core temp 52C
Max VDDC temp...133C

And I STILL only got 913!! How the hell is yours getting more than me, CPU you reckon? I had a slightly higher max FPS but quite a bit lower average.
Since my highest VDDC temp hit 133C during that run I'm a little worried about running too many more benchies up near those settings..the core only hit 52C though thanks to a Thermalright Shaman on the card :D

Great cooler, but does not address the VDDCs comic temperatures on the stock 5850 design I have!

SNIP

lol not sure tbh, could be the cpu, Q6600's are getting pretty old now

temps like those would suggest the card throttled back pretty hard, have you tried lowering the clock?
although i am very impressed you managed those clock speeds on a 5850 at 1.25 volts, thats harder than i pushed my old 5850 under water lol :p

I can only assume it must be the poor Q6600 :( I'm holding off until early next year to just do a complete new build, rock on the 22nm stuff :D
The card doesn't throttle back at all based on VDDC temps as far as I can tell, it's just the core temp that causes the throttling.
With a small mod I'm sure I could get the VDDCs down a solid 30C or so but since they barely hit 80-90C in the most strenuous games on my normal overclock (850MHz 1200MHz) settings I just haven't bothered.
I've done a bunch of runs with different clocks coz I'm cool like that. I've just included a couple of highlights rather than a massive table:

I couldn't be bothered to run the lower two again to get temps for them but I may update it sometime in the future.

So if I was a little bit crazy and left it on the highest clocks that I tested I could push an extra 25% performance out of my GPU, I'd say that is a pretty good showing from ATI! Though getting 50% overclock out of the trusty old Q6600 wins by far ;)

A bit of playing about (not as much time as I would have liked) - It will run at 940/2020 all the way through and then crash after the Unigine splasg as teh FPS / Score is displayed - ill have to work on that; a moderate OC gives:

Pair of GTX580 3GB

Problem at these settings is u don't gain quite as much of a score with heavily overclocking the gpu's as u would running Extreme Tessellation, 8xAA and 16xAF @ 1920x1080 or higher.
