I'm in, no matter what mode is chosen. I'm mostly Arcade, with a sprinkle of HB. Have only tried RB once, and couldnt take off, so should probably try again.

I have a question about plane levelling:
If I have a plane with all the upgrades, but the minimum XP for that plane at that stage, is it less powerful/maneuverable/accurate than the same plane with full XP and ticked status?

Ok so the preferred option is Arcade. I'll have a chat with rampy and see if we can pick some dates/times.

Anyone know how custom battles work? I'd have no issue with hosting but not playing if the host of a custom battle has an advantage, or are custom battles still hosted by the Warthunder servers?

Actually I think the Warthunder forums have a guide on setting up scrims etc. so I'll just have a read on there.

Setting up a custom game is easy enough. We tried a night game with heavy cloud a while ago (weren't you there?). Couldn't see a darned thing

Spangles had connection problems though :/

no sorry wasn't there....was maybe a good thing, I can team crash in broad daylight.....imagine the mayhem in the dark!!

Oh guys, I just started playing through the Germans and got up to buying my first 109... I think I'm in love... so much fun, I really wish I hadn't just focused on climbing the tiers with the brits

quite taken by the 109's myself. damn they gotta a lotta climb speed in them.

still love my airacobra's. don't turn don't climb well but flown right a 38mm cannon can't half spoil a lot of fun for folks

You actually like the first Me-109?

It has terrible firepower, and OK yes it is maneuverable, but it takes multiple reloads to kill anything!

You can always re-visit the tiers and re-play the planes, get the upgrades up and further improve your planes

What level is your Russians at? Russia has some delicious planes

Find I cant really do much good except in the British planes where ive pushed all my gold/xp on to.

Germans cant turn, nor can the Americans + they have fairly low firepower to boot.
Ruskies can be fun but I dont quite enjoy them as much as Brits.
Japs are just terrible.

The Kings Cobras are quite nice admittedly but I cant hit **** with the 37mm.

To be honest I've never noticed the combat flaps make much of a difference on any of the planes, but then again I am pretty gash at the game!

The P40's rudder is completely broken in HB. A twitch of rudder together with aileron sends the plane into an uncontrollable spin.

Maybe it's just me having played too much Arcade recently

Managed to get my MC.202 into a flat spin from 7000 metres last night whilst trying to dodge a couple of spits. Couldn't pull out of it for toffee, tried everything and just couldn't get the nose down and had to bail
