Minimap Broken?

Hi,

Since updating my mods for 0.8.7 my minimap doesn't appear to be the same: -

As you'll see I have the circle from my vehicle showing my max view distance. However before in 0.8.6 I had a line showing my turret/gun direction.

Any ideas why this should be missing and how to get it back?

The mods I have installed are: -


  • XVM-4.1.0

  • XVM-Stat-1.6.1

  • J1mB0's Crosshair Mod

  • Cmsg+Stats Locastan 87a

the xvm.xc config file in res_mods\xvm is the file thats probably changed. You will need to find a config that contains the setting you want, or enable it yourself, or use the XVM config from your 8.6 folder.

I thought the line/laser sight was frowned upon anyway.

Maybe because you could in some way use it to snipe at people on the map that you cannot see on the main screen?

You should check your config file, but there is a chance that WG have purposefully patched it out so that it no longer works for the above reason.

think it is that reason. tanks were being killed and they didnt know who did it because the person who shot them wasnt showing up on the map as they had used the line to direct fire.

Zoom mods are also meant to be a bit of a no no. Personally I dont like them anyway.

Give over, it's brilliant, yes it's a paper tank, but you have the speed and excellent camo value too, it's a StuG on roids, the gun is amazing, pen is more than adequate, even when in T8, 1.5 sec aim time. 0.3 accuracy and 2.5 sec reload = machine gun, so much fun, I did over 5000 damage in one match with this bad boy, couldn't do anymore as a I ran out of ammo :).
 
Would it be fair to say this game is slighty easier at this moment in time, especially where I am at tiers I-IV because lots of kids are off school? Having just started I can't make a comparison but people seem to rush in or be the first to poke their nose out of cover rather than have patience or think a bit more.

Also I tried out the Howitzer on my Cruiser MkII, I prefer more surgical guns on the whole but this thing is bonkers. Some guy was coming right at me and firing doing quite a bit of damage while I reloaded and took aim, I thought I was pretty much dead and wasn't fulled aimed so I just let it rip, when the dust settled his tank was no more, I laughed my arse off which led to someone else killing me. That thing is hilarious :D

Whaddya mean taking up your time, I found WOT a godsend with our two. Between the 11pm and 2am feed didnt bother going to bed didnt see the point just played WOT with the total nutters who are on at that time until I heard the "waaayyaaaaaaa".

Now both (1yr next Tue and 3yrs) are in bed by 7.30pm at the latest so evenings after 9pm I go on for a few games.
 
This so called MM fix just hasn't made any difference to me, this lunchtime I've been:

-Tier 6 in a Tier 7 game
-Tier 8 in a tier 10 game
-Tier 7 in a Tier 9 game

So yeah, I really can't see they've done anything...

Will be back on later, maybe it'll be better this evening. Games like these don't make me want to pick up the game and play again later though.

I'm not sure of the fix you're referring to, but depending on the tank you're choosing it's possible to end up in a game facing tanks of higher tiers.

Hes referring to my post I made the other day

From the games I've played today, Tier 8 Matchmaking seems a lot better. I wonder if that is what this was from the patch notes:

You can still get T10 in a T8 tank ofc, just it seemed to be happening an awful lot to me in 8.6 and not quite so much in 8.7

Matchmaker is still random just like so much of the game.
 
I did only have 3 games and I was bottom of every one, did well in every one but had no impact being bottom of every one.

But yeah, 3 games isn't enough to tell, but I was just annoyed that my lunch time games were full of Muppets, all of them bigger than me. :(
