They should have been out ages ago. I think it was originally planned to be released a month or two before the game went out of beta, but that never happened. Then it was due to come with the game release but you guessed it, never happened.

I think now they are due to be added in the next major patch. It would be funny if they kept the Hellcats top speed like it was in real life, though im gonna guess it will be impossible to hit :p

people seem to be able to hit my leopard easily enough :(
 
According to wikipedia it has a top speed of 60 mph. I dunno if thats true but it was one of the fastest tanks used in WW2. 60mph is what 90 km/h, a lot faster than anything in game. Plus it has a turret and can have up to a 90mm gun i think.
 
I decided to go German in the end.

I was torn between a tank destroyer or Panther II medium tank, so I followed my heart and picked the Panther.

I can't wait to get a bigger gun than this 20mm cannon I have on my PzKpfw II :D
 
I just can't seem to play this, takes forever to login - the cog just turns and turn for ages. If I'm lucky it eventually disappears - comes up with a error about the chat window not being able to initialise.
All the other windows appear to work.
Click battle and it goes to "Connecting..." then I drop out - reconnect and My tank is on the battlefield, but I can't do anything. Ping slowly starts to increase to 999 and my Lag icon turns red :mad:

I've turned off my firewall(s)/AV and also tied placing the PC into the DMZ to make sure that it's not a port issue - Same result each time.
Also tried reinstalling the game and running ccleaner to remove any junk, and updating the .NET libs...

A single core sits at 100% most of the time.

Any ideas?
 
Yep, definitely on the EU server, and it's the EU client (WoT_0.6.3.11_eu_setup.exe).
I'll download it again just to make sure it wasn't corrupted in some way.

Specs are:
Q6600 @ Stock (2.4)
8GB Ram
8600GT (latest drivers)

It's got me stumped. I'll reboot everything again when I get in just to make sure I haven't overlooked something.
 
have you tried turning the gfx options right down ? even with a 1gb gtx 460 i only get 50 - 60 fps.

i think the game automatically tries to select the best settings for you but maybe it has set them to high for your card.

maybe a little overclock on your q6600 wouldn't go amiss either :)

That depends on what tank your in and whether your put into battles where you are at the bottom or the top.

Ive been in battles lower down and it does suck, but theres always ways round things. Not to mention you can still earn a fair amount of xp and credits when in a lower battle. I earnt 5k xp (doubled) as a Tier 5 tank in a battle with several t8 tanks.

On the flip side when your at the top of your team, things can get a bit silly but the game would be very boring if everyone was the same tier.

I generally play German tanks which a lot would probably agree are disadvantaged vs a lot of russian tanks in several ways. At the start it was annoying but if you take the time to learn what to do it isnt that hard.

Which tank are you driving out of interest?

Edit: For what its worth, the full game was released on 30th Oct in Russia and isnt a "dead duck".

I have a light tank maxed out but keep it as running around in the tier 1 and 2 battles is kinda fun now and again i'll find myself in the odd tier 3. You can keep that tank and research the medium and or try the artillery. When you go up the tank tiers you will find yourself in battles tiered accordingly.
 
Hey guys just here to apologise i havn't been on for a while but i am in hospital and will be for a while so not gonna be able to join in only got a crappy laptop so i can do some forum stuff :(. Hope everyone is having a good time and by the time i get back into it you should all have big tanks to protect my crappys :D.
