** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

More content is always good .. even if its a rehash of old stuff . But HC 5 man is still hard (im ilvl 343) and the random grp thingy is a joke . To many people comming in for 1 boss then getting there loot and leaving . Also with the higher ilvl on pvp gear people doing 5 mans and taking all the gear or doing crap dps . 5k dps just isnt good enough but people still think its fine to coast along and let other people take up the slack .

Also a lot of crap healers about . I did a 5 man blackrock run and never got 1 heal from the start till i died 3/4 way through the first boss . Healers exscuse was i was to hard to heal (im a dk) . Well if he had tried at least i might understand . Needless to say he was removed and replaced and we finished the rest with no deaths :/

Was tanking Tol'vir this morning, healer was a bit undergeared so I marked up some mobs for CC, asked the hunter to trap the square ... so he ran up to it and dropped an ice trap, his intelligence was then questioned to which he retorted, "I MIGHT NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT WOW BUT I'M IN LAW SCHOOL!" /kick huntard

People never get to learn about things if you kick them, I hate people that do this. If you had told him what to do then im sure he would have happily done it.

Its the worst thing about Wow, people have no patience and expect other people to automatically know terms or what to do.

He's a level 85 hunter who when asked to trap a single mob ran up the whole group and put down an ice trap, if he hasn't learnt how the basics of how to play his class in 85 levels I'm sure as **** not going to spend the rest of the instance teaching him.

Chances are he didnt even know why he was being kicked though. You expect it from 14 year olds playing the game, not someone as old as you. Im not trying to insult you btw, its just a personal gripe of mine.

exactly, pugs and random groups have totally destroyed this game, no one has any patience or manners in WOW now.

im only levelling characters now to pvp with, and even then thats a mess.

I see Blizz are regurgatating content again in 4.1, WOW finally starting to die anyone?

Probably not, but i wish a game would come along that would kick its arse long term and force Blizz to really up their game, at its becoming drivel.

Lots of crap tanks that don't wait for CC and die before you can get your first heal of, or run of and pull as your drinking and have no mana. Never mind line of sight or damage reduction. Healing can be a real drag and after a while healers call quits and stop using the LFG tools. Which is way there are lots of crap healers.

I miss the good old days of jumping round molten core not having a clue what I was doing but being allowed to come since I was a healer. Also having no addons and using the blizzard ui with raid bars taking up half my screen.

The game is the same or even better than previous expansions. It's all about what you want to do in the game, pvp is kinda the same but you have some new battlegrounds (or other pvp places but I imagine pvp is all about arena as battlegrounds are just too random unless you do them with guild members only), pve is excellent imo so far, we got 3 raids with quite good variety, you don't have to kill trash for hours like in the past and you get HC modes for hardcore guilds and loot is plentiful (easier to get all the gear than ever).

The worst part of the game is the community, it's just bad but I imagine other mmorpgs have similar situation.

I play it for the pve content and I have never been happier, I'm finally in a good skilled guild raiding 3 nights p/w.

Is WoW still popular?

After I get through some of this work at college I'm thinking of adding a month sub but dunno whether to do it or not?

Added to which are DPS who still don't know how to manage their aggro, avoid CCed mobs and stand in the fire (as it were) expecting the healer to keep them alive. I'm ilvl346 (gemmed, reforged & enchanted to the hilt) and just started hitting 15k or so on bosses in HCs, but the amount of times my fellow DPSers have caused wipes in HC pugs is unreal - then I feel bad when the tank or healer announces 'DPS are tards' before rage-quitting, even though I know it's actually the other DPS that are tards.

Frankly, even though more than half of HC pugs are now successful, it still amazes me that there are so many fail groups forming - you can normally tell by the first boss whether your group's destined to fail or you're just rolling with the inexperienced, who'd do fine with a little instruction and the off wipe here or there. I'm more than happy to take an extra 30mins to complete a run if I can help out someone who's not doing so good. Within the last week I stayed behind with a fury warrior when the rest of the group ragequit to explain exactly where he was going wrong (aoe'ing cc mobs, not avoiding damage), waited for 10 mins while he ported out to reforge and back in and pugged a team back together to finish - he did fine after that, one wipe on Throngus (bear tank ftl) and no other issues. I've only been playing for 6 months or less, so I know how frustrating it is to be expected to know everything when nobody will take the time to tell you.

Yes, like crack cocaine. I'm personally past the initial buzz now, into the steady pleasure of indulging without letting it affect my real life, but there are clearly a great deal of washed-up, toothless crack whores hanging around the street corners in Orgrimmar because they've got nothing else going on in their lives. Some are so wrapped up in their addiction that they speak nothing but garbled gibberish (SP lfg BoT TR ilvl347 /w) and I often need the assistance of crack-whore translators to help me understand it. Bottom like, it's like the most awesome rollercoaster you've ever seen. Brief, dizzying moments of intense highs, interspersed with long periods of tedious waiting, and if you want to get to the good parts you have to wade through a great deal of other people's vomit because the cleaners (GMs) don't do their jobs properly. Occasionally a crying child is dragged away by a responsible adult, and the air is constantly filled with the sound of screaming cretins, but you persevere because maybe, just maybe, you'll get to ride the ride this time.

5/13 hc down now in 25man, Magmaw went down easy mode :) Then had a hour on Atremades, and got him to 15% thats another easy fight, getting on to the harder ones now.

My view of the kill: http://www.youtube.com/embed/XWcuhQfOFy8

Grats on some nice progress. My guild had a cracking raid last night, we 1 shotted everything we attempted last night incl HC Halfus and Al'akir. We managed to kill everything in record time, looks like final gear upgrades make a difference. Hopefully a HC Maloriak kill this week :)

Not true, being seriously bored I pugged 8 HC's today with my hunter main, no-one was rude and we one-shotted all of them as if they were wrath HC's.

People who complain about others being rude are normally the ones that completely **** it up for the rest of the party because they either haven't read up on tactics for the relevant boss (no excuse for this), can't play their class (at lvl 85, no excuse for this either especially if they're a hunter, it's not like you're switching from tank > healer with dual talents) or they're just plain dense, in which case they can go play the Sims or something.

If he didn't know why he was kicked after that particular stunt, he was obviously more stupid than the party assumed.

I have always found most people on WoW to be rude, only because they thing they are a far superior player than myself.

Most of them are playing the OP class at the time like Paladins, and before it used to be DK's.

However there are a lot of nice people too.

anyone want to do the invite a friend thing with me? Cant remember how it works but I may pay for 2 months sub which I think benefits you? and gets me to 60 fast :)

i just got my holy priest to 85 (yay!)

my only annoyance is warlocks who life tap to 20% health, well guess what warlocks i aint healing ya :P

This god damn ****** me off!!!!

They don't even eat/drink... meaning i have to heal them and top up before a fight (I like to be fully topped up in all fights just incase something goes wrong ;) )
