** Official World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Thread**

Sounds interesting.

New character models are welcome, so is no stat squash.

shame there are no plans to update tvc/wrath content and that scenarios are only 90, still annoyed they are revamping talent trees as well.

I dont think I will be coming back to WoW, It just doesnt do it for me anymore. I only lasted 4 years. But for that I do take my hat off to them for keeping me interested in the game for so long.

I might come back to see how it is later on, not sure yet though I have plenty of things to get on with.

Beta is definetely on the horizon! New update from Blizzard:

We’re very close to beginning beta testing for World of Warcraft®: Mists of Pandaria™! Over the course of the beta test, we’ll be inviting Annual Pass holders, press, fansites, friends and family, and opt-in beta testers to participate. As there’s no NDA for this test, you’re likely to start seeing lots of screenshots and new video around the web. Please keep in mind that the game is still in development, and what you’ll see during the beta test is not necessarily representative of the final game.

If you’re wondering how you can help us test Mists of Pandaria, or how the test works, look no further than the paragraphs directly below this one.

How do I opt-in?
Once you’ve set up a Battle.net account and have attached at least one Blizzard game, you can choose to opt in to our beta tests from the Beta Profile page. You’ll need to select which franchises you’d be interested in helping test, as well as download and run the System Check tool to attach your computer’s specifications to your beta profile. Once that’s complete it’s simply a matter of waiting for an invite.

How will I know if I’m selected?
We’ll send you an email letting you know when you’re selected, but please be aware of phishing attempts. Some unscrupulous individuals send out falsified emails purporting to be from Blizzard, but are in fact meant to steal your login credentials. For more information on how to identify these emails please refer to our Battle.net Security site. One easy way to ensure your invite is legit is to avoid clicking on links in any invite emails you receive, and instead log in to your Battle.net account and see if you have a Mists of Pandaria beta license attached. If there’s no license, you can be sure the email you received was not from Blizzard.

I am participating in the World of Warcraft Annual Pass promotion; when do I begin testing?
We’re inviting Annual Pass holders in waves over the course of the beta test, and will be ramping up the number of invites we send as quickly as possible. We’ll be inviting Annual Pass holders based on several factors, including how long your World of Warcraft account has been active and when you signed up for the Annual Pass. Keep an eye on your Battle.net account and email for your invite to join the beta test.

How many players do you plan to invite to the beta test?
Our primary focus will be ensuring that all of the players who signed up for the Annual Pass are invited over the course of the beta test. The number of additional players we invite will be based on our testing needs. If during the course of testing we determine we need more players to participate, we’ll invite more.

Is there an NDA?
There is no Non-Disclosure Agreement for the Mists of Pandaria beta test. Those invited to play are free to take screenshots, movies, or stream the game content. Please be aware that the game is very much still a work in progress, and we appreciate your understanding when you encounter bugs, graphical errors, or other issues.

How long will the beta test last?
We have not determined an exact date for the end of the beta test. We’ll post a notice when the beta test is nearing completion.

I can understand that they cant get every annual pass subscriber into the beta on day one. It would probably cripple the beta servers to have all those people joining at once. But I had better be amongst the first! I've been playing since 2006 and got the annual pass the same day it was announced at Blizzcon! If that doesnt qualify for the first wave, I dunno what else would! =/

I wouldnt worry about what "wave" you're in. Most of the invites they send out will be to annual pass users who just wanted D3 or the mount..I bet a good chunk of them aren't giving a flying monkey about the beta.

Therefore they'll send out invites quickly.

I'm not worried as such. I'm just eager to get into the beta as soon as possible. Im getting a little burned out doing the same 3 heroics and raid over and over. Need some fresh content!

Is it only me that would rather wait and enjoy the game when its fully released????

Something about getting up early for a few days and getting ganked to high heaven that appeals to me

PVP gear *** :D

Do we have any idea roughly when we are lookign at release ? Nov Dec time again ?

can we get into the beta after the cata beta fiasco?

i thought we were all banned from future betas

I'm actually very curious if anyone that was affected by that mess has signed up for an annual pass and gets beta access.
Since the MoP beta is advertised as a feature of the annual pass it seems to me they have to give it, banned in the past or not.

The release date is still unknown, but I think we can assume it will be before the Christmas period. I'd be predicting July/August personally.

I think betas are fun. I've been in the Cata and Diablo 3 ones. Looking forward to trying out a pandaran monk :D

I have the annual pass, and I was banned from the Cata beta. So it will be interesting, seeing that they are bound by the terms of the annual pass :)

Good stuff, you can be our test dummy and let us know if/when you get beta access :p

Really? What did you do to get yourself banned?

Theres a few people on here affected by this.

Short version: Cata friends and family alpha starts, forum member who worked at Blizz in some capacity (who has long since stopped posting) offers to put peoples names on the list.
Lots of people get into the alpha/beta.
Some time later and very randomly we all start getting banned with no word from Blizz.
After some prodding the forum member that gave us the invites claims someone he invited broke the NDA (the F&F alphas are under NDA unlike the normal beta) in some massive way that made everyone he invited get flagged for a ban.

Ban affected our PTR access as well although only for WoW, SC2 PTR seems fine.

Seems a little heavy handed. Mind you, it was probably unwise for that guy to hand out alpha invites to people he doesnt even know. The alpha is meant to be for friends and family, ie people you know and trust.
