** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

It's always been like that unfortunately, just one of those things.

Perhaps Blizzard know people who have bought expansions are more likely to come back regardless of a free month? It must be that I guess.

Hooray for the new shadowpriest mastery change! Mastery may actually be a useful stat for us now!

Mastery: Shadow Orb has been renamed to Mastery: Shadow Orb Power - Increases the damage done by your Shadow Orbs. Each point of Mastery increases damage by an additional 1.25%

Shadow Orbs *New* - You have a 10% chance for your Shadow Word: Pain and Mind Flay spells to grant you a Shadow Orb each time they deal damage. Casting your Mind Blast or Mind Spike spell consumes all Shadow Orbs, increasing damage of that spell by 0% per Shadow Orb, and granting 0% increased damage on your periodic Shadow spells for until cancelled. You can have up to a maximum of 3 orbs.

Mind Spike now stacks up to 3 times (Tooltip fix)

Obviously the 0% is still a number to be decided upon, but compared to the old crut mastery, much much better. Glad to see they listen to the community!

Yeah, I'm liking the mastery change.

I still wish Mind Spike was something we had to put into our actual rotation, it hasn't changed a great deal really :(

Oh well, I still love Shadow Priest :D

Why are they buffing Shadow priests. As a holy paladin they're the only class who comes close to kill me, and Feral druids are the only ones who can actually finish the job..

Are you talking about level 80 or 85?

If you are talking about level 80, PvP is not balanced at all and paladins are invincible.

I thought i'd ask this question here and save creating a new thread.

What are people doing to prepare for cataclysm with regards to makign gold?

Not specifically how to make gold but if there are anything people are stockpiling for the release in order to maximise their profits in the first few weeks/month of the expansion.

Specifically if there are any items in particular people are expecting to sell well, me i'm stockpiling the usual, herbs and ore, bags (both frostweave and netherweave), aswell as wotlk enchanting mats specifically dust and lesser cosmics.

I'm thinking of dropping a profession on one of my alts and powerlevelling enchanting in order to mass store all kinds of mats for new rerolls

I don't think players are stockpiling anything outside the ordinary, the key may be in what stock their liquidating since 4.0. There was a killing to be made with Glyphs, and lvl80 Epic Jewelcrafting is a money-maker which will become almost obsolete on December 7th when new recipes become available. There may be a market in uncommon crafting mats, such as mid-level gems, as rare crafted items will generate multiple skill-ups.

Apart from that, keep doing what you're doing. The huge number of new characters should provide a massive market for low-level mats, but Outland materials could be massively in demand a few weeks into the expansion as it's near impossible to level through the tradeskill with just what you gather from 62-68. If you have any of those, definitely hold onto them and keep your eye on the market.

What's the best DPS meter to download that you can link into chat?

Is it normal for a pro pally tank to out-dps the main dps in a group by double quite litteraly all the time?

atm yes pally tanks are also pushing out big dps, its just another side affect of our lvl 80s having talents and racials more akin to the 85 end game.

For damage meters Recount or Skada whichever you prefer.

Funny thing is theres always a disparity between the numbers reported by these apps on different people machines.

In a raid my Skada can have as much as a 2k difference between a mates Recount (with recount being 2k higher).

Please do not get one for the purpose of spamming recount in 5 mans, its annoying as fek and just makes me think the player is a tool.

As a meand of gauging your own performance and testing out results of new glyphs/rotations etc the damage meter is great.

As a means for /flex its not :)

I use Recount but I've heard good things for Skada too. Try them both out and see which you prefer
