** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

I had my email at 27 May 2010 01:18:23.

The expansion was in my battle.net account before I had the email as someone here last night pointed out.

Perhaps Colin can double check if he added your email Voltage?

For anyone wondering, it was Colin and Colin alone who added our emails to the Alpha list, all thanks is down to him and for allowing/trusting us to go through him to gain access.

I too suggest we form an OcUK guild for the beta, I'm sure we have a wide range of different types of players with different exp. I will be raiding on my main a lot so I won't be on the Alpha non stop. So maybe someone can create a guild and get us going.

We could form a raid, fly into Stormwind and destroy them all!!!

Just remember we need to be really careful what we say on these forums because of NDA. I don't want to get the guy into trouble. :)

luckily I made a backup.

I have just run the wow repair thing and tried the alpha install again and it seems to be working completely fine now :D

What was the error it was throwing up for you mate?

Just got back from my meeting and the alpha seems to be installing perfectly currently at 70%. (on my backup pc :/)

Was it saying you were missing one of the mpq's or something similar?

yes that's what I was getting except mine was at about 6% when I got the error.

Somethng something is missing the installation has been stopped. I ran the wow repair though and the install went through fine after that
 
To be honest I tried to instal Cata before bed and I too had an error.

It said It could not find World of Warcraft.

My copy wasn't installed on the PC I use now, it was just copied from my old PC which should be fine.

I told the 24mb short download thing to instal in my documents/world of warcraft but It just threw up that error whenever I tried.

I have just assumed I need to do a fresh instal. I have all the patches on the HDD so I suppose it isn't such a big deal.
 
Would love a beta invite if possible, Want see how the new Enh Shaman mechanics play like.

I don't think a lot of the talents are even in yet, at least according mmo-champion. It might have all changed by now, I'm stuck at work while it's installing (hopefully).
 
It seems to be for me, at least now a problem with the way i have my router/ switch setup on main pc.

It's whizzing away upstairs on my backup pc downloading and installing, but that's running off of a friendly neighbours wireless
 
Installed mine. Leveling is such a grind. Just got 50 quests completed as I'm half way through level 8. Worgen Druid btw. Now there's a bugged quest so I can't go on any further. :D
 
Mmm I dunno I changed the install path to the Warcraft folder. Come installation time
again I changed the file path to the Warcraft folder again so everything was in there.

In my case C:\world of Warcraft\catalysm

everything got installed to that location

Fixed with a restart. :)

Can we get a list of names going? I'm on Mekkatorque (EU) - Bigandhairy. Add me. ;)
 
I am also on Mekkatorque (EU) - I think thats the only server at the moment.

My main is Kargthra - DK 80 - copied
I also copied over a undead mage - 80 - dunno name yet....

But I plan on rolling a gobbo. Will post as I make em :p
 
:p because I have a fantastic lovely oh so erm.... beautiful 6 days off work starting today !!!

I didnt even know I got into the alpha till I woke up this morning. Anyone would have though I had this planned :p

I've got fri - mon off. But I've got do some writing on my book too. Meh, I'll fit them both in!!!!
 
There's only one EU server, that's PvE (Mekkatorque). The other two are US, and one of those is PvP (I can make characters on there).

We should start a guild, message me on MSN if you're online, address is in trust.
