** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

I did speak to blizzard last night, and there was no note on our accounts why we have been banned in the beta. He said best way to get a response is a GM ticket ingame.

My multiple emails (including taking it to the [email protected] one) said in no uncertain terms that they will not reveal the reason for the bans.
Since ingame GM's can't really do much with accounts and the PTR's are classed as unsupported anyway i think you'll be lucky to get anywhere, unless you get a GM willing to bend the rules a bit.

Last two responses i got (one from normal support and one from the senior support) basically said they consider the matter closed and thats it.
 
Im having a hard time deciding whether to go with my Rogue or my Mage as my main in Cataclysm. The new stuff for both classes looks really awesome.

Im looking forward to the new BGs, which do you guys reckon will be stronger for BGs Rogue or Mage?

Also...is it possible to completely gear your character from PvP (for PvP) now? Or do we still need to PvE for certain things?

Unfortunately as part of the PTR access you agree that we can revoke access at any time, unfortunately this seems to be the case and we have suspended your access to future testing of current content.

I have been unable to remove the ban at this time but am pursuing further avenues, while I cannot promise being able to restore access to you. I suspect that the actions of whoever referred you might be the reason for the ban not your own. I am checking this further but at this time I am unable to restore your access.

We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!

And here is the follow up I received after I sent another E-Mail asking for an update.

Hello,

Thank you for your email and please apologize the long waiting time. We asked for details from the US and got the answer just now.
Unfortunately we didn't receive any details regarding this issue, only that it can always happen that beta/test server access is blocked and that we cannot unlock your access. We're sorry that we don't have better news for you.

Im after a bit of advice please people....

As a new starter to the game after Cataclysm hits the shelves what would i need to buy in order to play the game.

I would presume that i would require a copy of Cataclysm and the rest of the information i require would be downloaded and installed.

Then i would create a Battle Net account and i would be able to play?
 
You need the original game + all the expansions. Ofcourse if you are starting from fresh you can play 1-60 on the original game alone, then buy TBC etc.

You'll need all expansions to play. I would buy them all only if you have already played the trial and know you like it.

There are new races that are only available in the expansion packs Death Knight, Blood Elves etc. therefore limiting yourself to only WOW means you might level to 60 buy the expansion packs and realise you like another race better and have to relevel... I must say it's a quandry lol

I was afraid of that being the case.

But at least i know now what the score is....thanks.

Oh and to clarify, i used to play wow up until about 14 months ago however when i stopped playing i gave my account to someone who get some decent use from it rather than it be sat there doing nothing.

that person still uses the account and i really am not the type of person to go asking for it back.

I do still have all the install disks for WoW, TBC and WotLK.

Its been a while since I checked but when PTR first made the move to 4.0.1 people were complaining that raiding at 80 was next to impossible with people wiping on trash before the first boss. Have they addressed that then?
 
I've not seen anything confirming it, just a lot of rumours, Would make sense though, as I know that DK's for sure have like no dodge in blood, lol.
 
Can't wait for the patch :)

However I am also not looking forward to the patch as it is going to destroy my UI :(

my DK is going to be a bloody tank ! :D
