** Official WoW Catalysm Alpha/Beta Thread **

As far as I can tell, you get more than 2k rep per dungeon, plus at the minute you can have the spirit of sharing to make it +10% extra rep per kill.

Any word yet if you keep the trike if you faction change? Im gonna grind it on my pally tonight, but am then gonna be server and faction changing him next week to play on my new server with friends....

Historically all mounts have changed to their opposite counterpart, in this case that would be the Worgen. So not sure what will happen :)

How are people getting race faction Rep from dungeons?

You get home city tabards now which allow you to become a chamion for that race same as how you can get northrend faction rep from heroics (argent crusade, kirin tor).

In this case the goblin tabard is gotten from orgimmar next to the flightmaster.

dont believe that.

say 2k rep an instance.

21k+12k+6k = 39k rep.

20 instance even at 10 mins an instance with a group of 5 getting in instantly is 3 hours 20 mins. an extra 5 mins per instance put its to 5 hours.

you get 300 rep per boss and 15 rep for trash mobs, with the pilgrims bounty buff thats an extra 10% rep, started at roughly 23:30 uk time and finished around 2:03 .

Most dungeons took 10 minutess or thereabouts, i think the longest was a 14 minute PoS, AoE tanking with a dk is ridiculously easy now and it helped that i managed to find a decent group through the dungeon finder, had a couple who stayed with me through the full 2 hours of instances.

All i had to do was pull several packs of mobs and then aoe them as the group had really no members in it that decided to pull before me or were nuking targets while i was pulling large groups.

Was for the most part a high dps group which i found refreshing as all but one tauren paladin who joined were in green, blue and a mish mash of a few epics, not the average group really.

might take slightly longer for others as we were lucky we had AN twice but other than that and Pos we had the multi boss instances such as gun'drak , drak'tharon and old kingdom.

we had a epic ICC run last night. We got to rotface and was doing the dancing with oozes achievement. RL explains what we got to do.
People started messing up a bit but getting through RL is telling people to move etc. Then about 20% in people started dieing but we was going to do it RL again telling people to move then all of a sudden says "btw make sure everyone targets druks (one of our dr00d healers) and laugh at his new tree form" the whole vent just erupted with laughter with people asking is that part of the tactics :p

hehe was really fun night.

Any WoW players here happen to be good overclocking demons aswell?

My CPU passes Linx/BurnTest 10 runs and Prime's for hours on both small FFT and Blend, will be perfectly rock solid in everything else I use the computer for.

Then I load up wow, and it has about a 20% chance of freezing and rebooting on a load screen. No blue screen, just freeze and reboot.

It's really confusing me. It doesn't seem to happen at stock so it's definitely something overclocking related..but I don't understand why it would crash in this one game, on various loading screens.

Anyone else had this problem and/or fixed it?

I didn't try a flat out reinstall of the game because I don't want to lose addons and macros etc :c

You could always backup your Addon folders and macros (theres a txt file in WTF I believe with macros) and try reinstall and just wack them back in after install.

That said I noticed your using a GTX 580 so maybe driver issues ? I use a GTX 480 on a 24" at 1900x1200 I take off my overclocking and I still get around 40fps with everything on ultra while in combat. I think the lowest I've seen it drop is to about 20fps in battle but then again that was on the Onyxia "Many Whelps.. Handle It" achievement so there was so much going on loads of AOE plus mobs.

So... *shrugs* maybe just use it on stock if it plays well.

How hardcore does Garrosh loook now? Spending his time annoying everyone as usual as well :p I think they will set up a storyline at the end of cata or at some point to get rid of him as even the orcs are divided about him

Oky doky, perhaps I'll back them up and wipe the game, and reinstall it. You can still download the entire client from the blizz homepage yeah?

Have to say I fancied resubbing for a bit just to see what its like, but I can't remember any of my account details, and for some reason my battlenet account seems to have a spent wow trial but not the full game (which I definitely bought!). So I cba.

Did you merge your WoW account into your bnet account?

for those getting the bilgewater rep atm also remember to get the rep buff from the pilgrim tables "Spirit of Sharing"

Once blizz hotfixed the rep exploits in older instances the rep is a breeze to get exalted, now every fekker is on one of those trikes :)

BTW did any1 else do the plants vs zombies minigame for the pet? got mine last night, so cute when its singing

yea the plants vs zombies pet is freaking awesome. I still havn't figured out if you can play it again though as there is the feat of strength to it. Would kind suck if you can only play it once through the questline.

If I were to resub (eugh!), I'm torn as to what to play because I don't know anything about how the game has changed now.

I always loved playing a Shadowpriest and Pally in arena/pvp but really don't know what is a better class these days. I won't be raiding, and if I do resub it'll be casual play.

Classes have changed drastically over the last few patches as leveling now is so much easier and a lot more fun.

The game is setup for casual players now, i myself only play 2-3 times a week for an hour or two at most and have managed to level at a pretty decent pace, started a troll warlock wednesday and having only played for 3-4 hours total im already level 18, no power leveling, just questing and 2 dungeon runs (ragefire chasm and deadmines) which alone got me 4-5 levels.

They've really gone all-out in balancing the total lack of tin for early-level miners. Just started in Ashenvale and there's tin everywhere - I'm gonna have to backtrack to find some copper to smelt it with!

Platypus, if you're starting from fresh, check out the reroller project. The more the merrier, and apart from a bit of fury over the recent decision-making, it's all got off to a good start. We're on Defias Brotherhood (RP PvP) horde side.

your link needs fixing mate, remove the " " from the link and the stray extra [/url otherwise it won't load the page.

edit :- there is also a stray http://www.http.com in the link

On the topic of a reroller guild i was looking at it before, whats your plans regarding raiding?

I've got a job interview coming up and if it goes well i will probably find myself with a lot less time to play than i have done considering i will have commute time that i didnt have when i was previously working.

i would like to raid probably ten mans and maybe ten man heroics but im not 100% sure as to how much i can commit, also how is Defias brotherhood as a server? is the community friendly etc?

If it looks right i may join you guys with my dk or maybe level a goblin shammy come cata.

I noticed the sheer amount of ore about also tbh. My main is not a miner (well he used to be) But wondering around Burning steeps yesterday the amount of Mithril about that place was insane ! I've never seen so many nodes before.

Same with herbs tbh started seeing a lot more of them about than there used to be. Hope this is a trend we will see in the new Cata areas. As well being an engineer and JC its going to be expensive so would be nice to see lots of ore/bars on AH to lower the cost :D

Silly me, all fixed now - though I couldn't find that stray http://www.http.com anywhere.

From the impression I'm getting, raids would be on a casual basis only. It depends on how the player base pans out in the future. If it's a success we may get a few more immigrants from the board, possibly enough to form a raiding core but I can't see raids being compulsory.

At the moment it's about as casual as can be, but the thread has already cautioned those looking to pay for character transfers - the last OcUK guild ended viciously, lots of people paying to transfer over and they all ended up hating each other. Still, that tension shouldnt be abundant since most are rerolling from scratch. There's a few transferring characters over to get heritage items, but personally I can't see the point of whacking on +10% XP gear when you're levelling to see the new content.

I'd advise either rolling up a test toon to check out the early stages, or putting it off until you can get your hands on a goblin. There's bound to be a few more people starting from lv1 come the 7th anyway, so you'll have company. Just don't shell out the cash for a character transfer until we're a bit more established :p

This makes me happy. Mithril farming was by far & away the most tedious point of blacksmithing, especially specialising. You needed 120 mithril just to start the specialisation quests, let alone all the stuff you needed to make to finish it.
