***Official Wrath of the Lich King Thread***(Contains spoilers)***

i dont think this is a patch related issue, but a hallows end issue, people were complaining about things happening with all the decortations and treat pots, plus the additional quests they added, before that people were happy and things were going smoothly - Blades Edge Horde and Alliance.

My char will be a lvl 70 Undead Warrior - Arms spec

I've just rolled a new Pally, should have some fun trying to get her to 70 before I buy WotLK! Never played one before so I can't tell the difference between the new and old patches, but hell do they ever go down?

(this is mainly from retribution spec pov)

The old paladins pre-patch were horrible. They were very weak, and relied on auto-attacks far too much. Also very easily killed compared to now, and ran out of mana way too fast. The judgement/seals system was very poorly designed too - if you judged, you had to recast the seal again. Repetitive judge/seal casting gets old real fast, and the playerbase was complaining about it ever since the original vanilla WoW beta. I don't know why Blizzard decided to respond now instead of four years ago, but better late than never, eh? The current design is an unstoppable killing machine now. It's probably the most fun class to play for me, compared to being the most boring before.

When you get Art of War and Judgements of the Wise talents (which won't be for some time), there's simply no stopping you.

I just noticed the necromancers in Scholomance has the Corpse Explosion ability now. The corpse turns into gibs when exploded. I was grinding the instance for Dark Runes when I came across this (lame TBC paladin mount quest requiring items from obsolete pre-TBC places ). Looks pretty cool.

Taking my warrior to 80 as im loving the new prot talents! Just trying to work out the best rotation. Shield block + badge trinket = imba shield slam. Find myself grinding with battle shout on for imba concussive blow and shockwave damage too! PVP gear stacks soo much strength too that shield slams in AV end up really high!

Gonna level my mage to 70 from 62 now the XP has been lowered and my rogue from 14 to 49 to twink with my mates pala and resto druid.

Since the patch came, I managed to level from 62 to 67 on my paladin. Extremely fast! Pretty much every outdoor group quest I was able to solo so far, as well as doing the paladin mount quests, including solo runs through Scholomance (for Dark Runes) and Stratholme. I'm seriously pondering which character to take through WOTLK first now, paladin, shadow priest or death knight.

The friend-recruit-levelling system is broken atm, it's not working currently. Blizzard is fixing it.

thats only one part, the grant a level bit. The refering account can't grant levels anyway, the refered account, for every 2 levels gained can grant 1 level back to any lower level character on the refering account. In other words, its not hugely useful anyway, once you've hit 60 with two new characters on the refered account, the refering can basically have a character up to 60 in 20 seconds with the grant a level. THough that bit is broken but they think it will be fixed soon. Its secondary anyway, the triple xp quest/mobs is working as normal, the granting levels will probably be fixed at some point before you hit 60 anyway.

What are other peoples opinions of the achievments system? I personally am loving it, given a whole new reason to play until the expansion comes live. I've managed to do all the halloween achievments in 1 day, except the masks one :D

Have a 70 hunter that really needs gearing up, a 60 warrior and am in the process of leveling a mage up, while i still have recruit a friend...will just use what ever is needed in WOTLK :)

Its a bit of a shame, people are to focus'd on gear. Even now it would seem almost every fight has been nerfed and every's talking about downing everything with ease theres still people asking for people for raid's saying they will be raid checked.

I'm not really sure what to roll, every time I look into a class they are talking about how its been nerfed to hell and is either boring as hell or just completely useless. So if i hit 70 with something and can never find a raid spot because its useless. Oh well, the more I play the more I want to at least see the raid area's but the more time I realise that will take.

I have to say again, Lotro seems far better in that sense. Rather than nerf classes, just make the lesser classes better. For instance now everyones talking about retri paladins being insanely powerful, but for all those that level them now in a month they'll be nerfed to hell and back and be far less fun, but that seems unfair. Why not just give others some counters to them and increase their DPS. More fun for everyone, rather than less fun for one single group.

Hunters in Lotro got a, not a major nerf, but got a irritating drop in usefulness of several things early on as they were too powerful. But they learnt quickly, better to bring other classes up in power than knock one class down, they got better at balancing and now rarely make a mistake in terms of taking anything away from a class.

wow what a joke swp is now.
Clearing trash with just 1 mage and also pulling two groups at a time.
Having been stuck on murru for 2 months we killed him 2nd try, taking a 30 min raid break before we do kil.
Feels more like a HC than the hardest instance in game :<

Well I have a few issues with the new patch:

A) I cannot run shadows on max - unless I run in window mode.

B) I get hard locks. It can happen at any time. WoW will just stop responding then my system will eventually lock (from reading around it's happening to quite a few people).

Yeah we had that, we 1 shot all the bosses, then killed Twins (Who we'd only just got to before the patch hit) on our 3rd go, one of which was someone falling off the ledge and pulling before people were ready, lol.

Doing Mu'ru tonight, maybe might get to KJ... although we still need to know the tactics for mu'ru i guess, so may not be as easy.

I hope they fix shadows Robert, as this game is pretty old now, even with shadows we should still have the game running great to be honest.
