I just joined these guys several days ago, I'll be doing captures and encoding for some of the latest game releases and possibly join for the odd multiplayer game. :D

haha good I recorded a 5 minute video and its about 1gb which is going to take ages to upload trying to get it smaller it isn't liking it. :p

It should be much smaller when you export it. A 5 minute video will probably be around 150-200Mb, if you export it 720p wmv for example.

What sort of settings do you use?


This is what I done I think I need to use a better res to get rid of the black boxes, What is the lowest res to use so it isn't here?

 
Argh, trying to start on another multiplayer video but certain people in my house are making the internet crawl with their damn facebook zoo world games :mad:

Yeh, BRINK again. I was levelling up some other characters on the game but cba with them any more so have just decided to go back to my other character and make another video, but now my internet is moving at a snail pace for some reason and it's usually down to them playing a game called zoo world on the other computer. -_-


Slightly related, I was in the library the other day trying to access my emails to get important documents, having spent 5 minutes joining the library in the first place so that I didn't have to pay to use the computers. I couldn't get it to load any internet pages at all, couldn't access my email, looked around at the other computers & the people on them, and whilst 2-3 people near me were having the same problem, there were about 10 people playing facebook games and commenting on facebook photos, all whilst I'm trying (and failing) to contact bloody employers etc. /rant
 
For recording I use Audacity. To synch your commentary with your video if you're going for live commentaryI generally start Audacity recording, load up Fraps, load up the game then say something like "beginning recording now" as I hit the Fraps hot key.

You then just cut out everything from the audacity track before that point. Might have a millisecond or two of drift, but nothing noticable.
 
Murray, are you downloading plug-ins for vegas? Because your v3 intro is one I've seen several other people use for their intros.

Theres a couple of swearies, but I'm sure you'll understand why he chose to rage :D

 
oh okay, thought you were using vegas 10. I'd advise you go for vegas and make your own intro. You can make something decent pretty easily using the tools in it. For example, I made a series of TDU2 videos and came up with an intro that played at the beginning of all of them using pretty basic tools in vegas (you can see it in the video below). So I'd recommend just having a play around with that, there's also lots of tutorials on youtube I think, which look quite useful.

Plus you have an awesome name think I am going to stick with my old Youtube because its so annoying having to log in and out of Gmail now that its linked, liammur5 productions doesn't have the same ring as Deific Productions. :p
