Oh it delay again from ATi???

I hope it's only a driver/supply/strategical issue. It's a bit late to be having hardware issues! DX10 migration is proving to be a bit of a headache isn't it!

Still not like theres umpteen Dx10 games that sadly can't be played, R600's are still going to be reviewed in the usual way CoD2/Oblivion/Fear pmsl so so what its delayed, cards out now are fast enough for those old games. :D

Exactly, but the power these card's perform at in DX9 is worth one alone

Does anyone remember that thread called 'ATI - In Trouble' from a year or two ago? Perhaps we should do a Part 2 version.
Why? We'd end up having to do one every year and it still wouldn't be true.

Stuff will get sorted... nearly always does. Only problem is we can't get our hands on the latest toys to play with! As PC Enthusiasts, we're not known for our patience... :p

I think it's driver realted, as AMD clearly wants these out in good numbers unlike ATi's previous paper launches (although I think X18/x19 were good hard launches).

Would be a joke for AMD/ATi to release R600 now which will still be late to the show and not have good nvidia like Vista drivers, so they will save face by bringing out the card which good support, kinda like saying it is worth the wait.

Who knows, all we can do is speculate :)

the 1800 was not a good launch
it was soo slow out that the 1900 series was out only a few weeks later
as supply was poor

Price/performance I totally agree, but price was never mentioned.

Please show me some reviews where a 8800gtx demolishes a x1950 crossfire setup, and not just 1 game. Looking at Anandtech for instance, Xfire comes out on top or is within a few frames on most games. In no way a definition of being murdered.

Since when did value for money not matter?

To me, price is just as important a stat as framerate.

Good point, you also have the problem of Crossfire under performing in some games and sometimes not even working!, where as the GTX will always perform as it should, factors like this help it Demolish XFIRE setups

Aye this is why the 7950GX2, to me, was always a bad card. The fact it's SLI makes it unreliable compared to a single card solution (i.e. 8800) and that's seriously compounded in Vista with Nvidia's current crappy drivers.

Crossfire is just the same. It's always best to buy the fastest single card you can afford and right now the £200+ pricerange is dominated by Nvidia, while ATI still clearly own the £100+ pricerange with the X1950Pro.

Crossfire anything is not worth considering right now. Crossfired X1950Pros come out at £220 and can still be thrashed easily by a £199 8800GTS, Crossfired X1950XT/-Xs cost a shedload more and you can get 8800GTX for ~£350 or something now which makes that pointless too.

ATi wont say when it release but mentioned to push into Q2 but think it would be end of June to Sept rather than April-June... it could be other delay again to forward to Q3 or Q4... have to find out when ATI release the R600 as there is no date, usual change it mind like PS3 for Europe forward from November to March. Keep watch for latest news.
